SATISFAIRE UNE VRAIE CURIOSITÉ<br />
Expatriés à la recherche d’activités culturelles, hommes<br />
et femmes de retour dans leur pays d’origine et<br />
souhaitant en redécouvrir le patrimoine, ou simples<br />
curieux, nombreuses sont les personnes à qui s’adresse<br />
la Fondation Basango. En remettant au goût du jour<br />
les talents d’hier, en misant sur ceux de demain et<br />
en variant les prestations et les supports, Wilfrid,<br />
Adriana et leur équipe ambitionnent d’accompagner<br />
Ponténégrins, Congolais, Africains et citoyens du<br />
monde dans la découverte de la culture africaine.<br />

for cultural activities, men and women returning<br />
to their home country and wishing to rediscover<br />
its heritage, or just curious people – the Basango<br />
Foundation caters for all those. By bringing back<br />
past talents to the fore, by banking on future talents<br />
and by varying both activities and mediums, Wilfrid,<br />
Adriana and their team wish to help people from<br />
Pointe-Noire, from Congo, from Africa and citizens<br />
of the world to discover African culture.<br />
BASANGO.INFO<br />
Lancé en 2002, Basango.info est un webzine d’information<br />
inédit. Apolitique et spécialisé, il propose des<br />
rubriques originales sur des faits de société, des initiatives<br />
locales, des success stories, etc. Il parvient à attiser<br />
sans cesse l’envie du lecteur de découvrir l’âme du<br />
Congo et la culture afro.<br />
Basango.info is a novel information webzine which<br />
was launched in 2002. It is non-political and<br />
specialised, and consists of original columns<br />
on society items, local initiatives, success<br />
stories, etc. It succeeds in constantly<br />
arousing readers’ curiosity for discovering<br />
the soul of Congo and afro culture.<br />
WILFRID<br />
Ce natif congolais a souhaité mettre,<br />
début 2000, son goût pour la culture et son<br />
amour pour son pays – acquis au sein de sa<br />
famille et lors de séjours en France et en Côte<br />
d’Ivoire – au service du projet Basango.<br />
At the beginning of the years 2000, this<br />
native of Congo decided to put his taste<br />
for culture and his love for his country –<br />
acquired within his family and during stays<br />
in France and Ivory Coast - at the service of<br />
the Basango project.<br />
BASANGO POINT CULTUREL<br />
Basango a évolué en 2009 en ajoutant au site<br />
internet un espace chaleureux et cosmopolite,<br />
situé en plein cœur de Pointe-Noire. Petits et<br />
grands s’y retrouvent pour partager un moment<br />
agréable autour d’un café ou d’un verre de vin,<br />
mais surtout pour apprécier une exposition photos,<br />
écouter un concert, lire un livre et même apprendre<br />
à jouer de la guitare ou à parler espagnol.<br />
In 2009, Basango developed by adding to the<br />
website a friendly and cosmopolitan meeting<br />
place right in the heart of Pointe-Noire. All<br />
generations gather there to share a pleasant<br />
moment over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine,<br />
but above all to admire a photographic exhibition,<br />
listen to a concert, read a book, and even learn<br />
how to play the guitar or speak Spanish.<br />
ADRIANA<br />
Présente aux côtés de Wilfrid depuis la naissance du<br />
projet, cette travailleuse de l’humanitaire qui a voyagé<br />
aux quatre coins du monde a su lui apporter un<br />
autre regard et proposer de nouvelles thématiques.<br />
This humanitarian worker who travelled to the four<br />
corners of the world has worked alongside Wilfrid<br />
from the onset of the project; she has brought in a<br />
different outlook and proposed new themes.<br />
VAN ANDRÉA : ENTRE LE PASSÉ<br />
ET LE PRÉSENT, IL Y A L’ART<br />
Du 17 octobre 2014 au 15 janvier 2015, l’espace<br />
Basango Point Culturel vous invite à venir apprécier<br />
l’œuvre de Van Andréa. Âgé de 22 ans, ce dernier<br />
est une des jeunes perles de la création artistique<br />
contemporaine au Congo, aussi agile avec un pinceau<br />
qu’avec une mine de crayon. Ses créations sont<br />
subtiles et poétiques. Il explore le passé pour comprendre<br />
le présent, dont il cherche les charmes et la<br />
singularité insoupçonnés.<br />
Van Andréa: between past and present, there is art<br />
From 17 October 2014 to 15 January 2015, you are<br />
invited to view the works of Van Andréa at Basango<br />
Point Culturel. 22-year old Van Andréa is one of<br />
the young gems of contemporary artistic creation in<br />
Congo; he is as nimble with a brush as with a pencil.<br />
His creations are subtle and poetic. He explores the<br />
past in order to understand the present, looking for<br />
the latter’s unsuspected charm and singularity.<br />
