concernant le développement d'algorithmes pour l'utilisation de données satellite ainsi que desdéveloppement de méthodes d'assimilation dans les modèles de surface.Dans la continuité de ce travail, les mesures de stations locales et les campagnes de mesures detransects kilométriques vont être poursuivies jusqu'en 2010. Dans le cadre du projet de satellite SMOS,les sites méso-échelles AMMA sont sélectionnés comme sites de validation des produits de SMOS(ESA, de Rosnay et al 2005).8. Liens avec les ApplicationsLe projet ‘Global-Sahel’ entretient depuis plusieurs années des liens privilégiés avec le centrerégional AGRHYMET à Niamey, en particulier dans le cadre d’une proposition commune soutenuepar le CNES (‘Initiative VEGA-2000’) dont le principal objectif est le développement de méthodesd’estimation de la production végétale en zone pastorale (contexte de sécurité alimentaire). A lademande de l’ONG ‘Action Contre la Faim’, une collaboration du même type a débuté en 2003concernant le suivi des zones nord sahéliennes au Mali, qui a abouti dans la mise en place d’unSystème d’Information Géographique intégrant les données du satellite VEGETATION pourl’estimation des ressources végétales disponibles.
