ANש EXCEPTIONAL TERROIR, A COMPREHENSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL METHOD
Written in two centuries, the story of this
exceptional Saint-Estèphe Grand Cru Classé
situated near Pauillac is inseparable from
the extraordinary terroir to which Château
Montrose owes its unique place in the
universe of the great Bordeaux wines.
In 2006, Martin and Olivier Bouygues bought
the property and immediately launched
into a spectacular renovation and today,
the property’s “Chai Cathédrale” is one of
the most beautiful in Médoc. To guarantee
energetic self-sufficiency, the domaine also
boasts a geothermal well and a solar park.
This comprehensive resolve of reducing its
environmental carbon footprint also applies to
the winery: “The aim of our gradual passage
to biological viticulture consists in becoming a
reference in terms of eco-responsibility within
the next ten years. This commitment further
reinforces the work of our winery teams who
are determined to produce the best wine (*)
