The Domaine Pieretti on the hillsides of the Cap is a unique terroir on<br />
Corsica, due to its isolation, its clay-shale soil and its special association<br />
with the sea and maquis.Today, Lina Venturi manages the domain she<br />
inherited from her father. Her family began wine growing in the 16 th<br />
century and the estate continues in its perpetual quest for excellence.<br />
The wine grower produces white, rosé, red and Muscat wines that<br />
express vibrant mineral tones with great delicacy, thanks to sustainable<br />
growing methods and exceptional climatic conditions: sun, strong<br />
winds, little rain.<br />
On the eleven hectares of the three mini terroirs of Pietracorbara, Santa<br />
Severa and Meria, Lina produces her elixir in small quantities: 50,000<br />
bottles per year. The reds pay tribute to Alicante, a traditional grape<br />
variety from Cap Corse which is similar to a Grenache noir, especially<br />
in the remarkable “A Murteta” which has leather, grilled and liquorice<br />
notes. The “Vermentino” variety produces dry and crystalline whites.<br />
The Domaine cuvée is sunny and mineral and the Marine cuvée is<br />
elegant with iodine flavours. The delicate Muscat is a perfect combination<br />
of light unctuosity and vitality.<br />
