Le 77 e Bol d’Or Mirabaud est à nos portes, et il vous attend.
Pour certains d’entre vous, ce sera une première, pour
d’autres une 20 e ou peut-être même une 30 e édition. Quand
on aime, on ne compte pas, car participer au Bol d’Or
Mirabaud c’est le plus souvent manifester sa passion et son
amour du lac Léman. Comme la plupart des participants, je
n’étais pas né lors de la 1 re édition du Bol d’Or, en 1939.
Bien de l’eau a coulé sous les coques de nos fiers voiliers depuis
cette année historique. Aujourd'hui, les plus rapides vont 4 à 5 fois
plus vite, et le nombre de bateaux a été multiplié par 20.
Il a donc fallu «repenser» le Bol d’Or Mirabaud. Je désire à cet
égard tirer un grand coup de chapeau aux organisateurs, et plus
particulièrement aux présidents du comité d’organisation du Bol
d’Or Mirabaud. J’ai pris la présidence du CVSNG en novembre
2002 et, à cette date, le responsable de la manifestation était Jean-
Loup Gabayet. En 2006, Jean-Loup a été remplacé par Thierry
Chappatte qui a passé la main un an plus tard à Michel Glaus.
Dès 2007, Michel et son comité ont fait évoluer la manifestation
de manière incroyable, tant sur l’eau qu’à terre. Aussi, je souhaite
ici adresser un très grand MERCI à Michel pour tout ce qu’il a
réalisé durant les huit éditions qu’il a organisées et lui souhaiter
beaucoup de plaisir, en tant que participant, aux prochains Bol
d’Or Mirabaud… L’autre très grand MERCI va à Rodolphe Gautier
qui a accepté, en ce début d’année, de reprendre les rênes de
la manifestation, ce qui n’était de loin pas une décision facile à
prendre, vu l’ampleur de la tâche.
Je souhaite à tous les participants de profiter au maximum des
moments hors du commun qu’ils vont vivre sur l’eau, et leur demande
d’avoir une petite pensée pour tous ces bénévoles qui travaillent dur
afin que l’aventure soit belle.
PARTICIPATE – ORGANIZE
The 77 th Bol d’Or Mirabaud is just around
the corner, and expecting you. For some it
will be the first, for others the 20 th or even
30 th race. In love you don’t count the cost
and taking part in the regatta is generally a
display of one’s love and passion for Lake
Geneva. Since the first Bol d’Or held in
1939, a lot of water has flowed under the
hulls of our proud sailing boats. Today the
swiftest go four or five times faster and the
number of boats has been multiplied by 20.
So, the Bol d’Or Mirabaud needed to be
“rethought”. In this respect I would like to
take my hat off to the organizers and to
the chairmen of the organizing committees
in particular. I became chairman of
the CVSNG in November 2002 and,
at that time, Jean-Loup Gabayet was in
charge of the regatta. In 2006 Jean-Loup
was replaced by Thierry Chappatte who
handed over to Michel Glaus a year later.
Since 2007, Michel and his committee have
made an exceptional job of developing the
event both on water and on land. This is
why I would like to say a big THANK YOU
to Michel for all he has done for the eight
events he has organized and to wish him
much pleasure as a participant in the future
Bol d’Or Mirabaud regattas… Another big
THANK YOU goes to Rodolphe Gautier
who has accepted to take over the reins. It
was by no means an easy decision, in view
of the size of the task.
I hope all the competitors will have the best
of times on the water, and ask them to spare
a thought for all the volunteers who work
hard to make this the great experience it is.
