un Fonds international<br />
Le Fonds de Partenariat pour les Ecosystèmes Critiques<br />
(CEPF) a distingué 10 Héros des Hotspots d’exception issus<br />
de la société civile, pour leurs efforts dans la protection des<br />
régions mondiales les plus riches et menacés en termes de<br />
biodiversité.<br />
Dans le Hotspot <strong>Madagascar</strong> et les Iles de l’Océan Indien<br />
(MADIO), ce prix a été décerné au Dr Vikash Tatayah,<br />
Directeur de Conservation au sein de la Mauritian Wildlife<br />
Foundation (MWF).<br />

Grâce à son dévouement et son dynamisme, des oiseaux au<br />
bord de l’extinction tels que le perroquet écho, le pigeon rose<br />
et la Crécerelle de Maurice, sont réintroduits dans les forêts<br />
locales, avec l’appui de la Fondation Tany Meva, équipe de mise<br />
en œuvre régionale du CEPF dans le Hotspot MADIO<br />
Le CEPF qui fête ses 20 ans d’existence a exprimé sa<br />
reconnaissance en marge de la célébration de la Journée<br />
Mondiale de la Biodiversité (22 mai).<br />
Indian Ocean Conservationist Honoured<br />
by International Fund<br />
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) has<br />
recognized 10 outstanding Hotspot Heroes from civil society<br />
for their efforts to protect some of the planet’s most<br />
vulnerable species and ecosystems.<br />
In the <strong>Madagascar</strong> and the Indian Ocean Islands Hotspot<br />
(MADIO), the award was given to Dr. Vikash Tatayah,<br />
Director of Conservation at the Mauritian Wildlife<br />
Foundation (MWF).<br />
Thanks in part to his dedication and dynamism, birds in<br />
danger such as the echo parrot, the pink pigeon and the<br />
Mauritius kestrel are being reintroduced into local forests,<br />
with the support of Fondation Tany Meva, CEPF’s Regional<br />
Implementation Team.<br />
CEPF, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, expressed its<br />
gratitude on World Biodiversity Day (22nd May).<br />
