DESTINATIONS Parc De Soavinandriamanitra CACHE - Cache C'est un parc pour la recherche de lémuriens, de reptiles et d'un grand nombre de variétés d'orchidées. Situé au nord de la "ville des mille" (l'autre nom donné à Antananarivo), le parc de Soavinandriamanitra est aussi l'endroit où le roi Andrianampoinimerina se cachait de ses ennemis. Le lieu a également été utilisé pour stocker des explosifs pendant la lutte pour le pouvoir sur le palais d'Ambohimanga. La faune de <strong>Madagascar</strong> est joliment représentée dans ce parc atypique entouré de grands murs en terre cuite. Le parc abrite des espèces malgaches emblématiques, comme les lémuriens, dont le sifaka ("lémurien dansant"), l'eulemur fulvus ("lémurien brun commun") et le catta ("lémurien à queue rousse"). Il y a aussi des reptiles: crocodiles, caméléons, uroplatus ("gecko à queue de feuille"), crapauds, serpents et lézards partagent l'espace avec les cochons d'Inde et les pintades. La flore est tout aussi riche avec une belle variété d'orchidées, de fougères, ainsi que l'arbre hasina (portant le nom scientifique de Dracaena angustifulia) qui, selon la légende, porte chance. Une des spécificités de ce parc, et non des moindres, réside en ses murs superbement peints de fresques retraçant les histoires de contes typiquement malgaches : Ikotofetsy sy Imahakaha (deux personnages malins), Rantsana dimy (l’histoire des cinq doigts de la main), Rafotsibe nita rano (la vieille femme qui traversait un fleuve). The park shelters emblematic Malagasy species, such as lemurs, including the sifaka (‘dancing lemur’), eulemur fulvus (‘common brown lemur’) and the catta (‘ringtailed lemur’). There are also reptiles: crocodiles, chameleons, uroplatus (‘leaf-tail gecko’), toads, snakes and lizards share the space with guinea-pigs and guinea-fowl. The flora is equally rich with a beautiful variety of orchid, ferns, as well as the hasina tree (bearing the scientific name of Dracaena angustifulia) which, according to legend, brings good luck.
