beautiful exhibition in the archaeological crypt of Île de la Cité. You will learn a host of things about the history
of Notre-Dame de Paris, this universal building, and about the great names of France who have contributed to
its greatness and its influence throughout the world !

SECRETS DE BEAUTÉ
La nouvelle exposition de la Maison de la Culture du Japon invite les visiteurs à entrer dans l’intimité
des femmes de l’époque Edo, pour en découvrir les rituels de beauté. Coiffures sophistiqués, astuces de
maquillage, codes vestimentaires stricts… les pièces présentées dévoilent des pratiques et des traditions
ancestrales qui ont parfois encore un écho dans la société japonaise actuelle.

BEAUTY SECRETS
The new exhibition at the Maison de la Culture du Japon invites visitors to enter into the intimacy of
women of the Edo period, to discover their beauty rituals. Sophisticated hairstyles, makeup tips, strict
dress codes… the pieces presented reveal ancestral practices and traditions which sometimes still
have an echo in present-day Japanese society.
