Cela faisait 7 ans que Marjane Satrapi, réalisatrice
de films primée à Cannes avec son œuvre
autobiographique Persépolis, auteur de BD et peintre
n’avait pas exposé son travail au public. Jusqu’au 28
novembre, 15 tableaux de sa main sont présentés à la
galerie Livinec à Paris, l’occasion de découvrir ou de
redécouvrir le travail pictural d’une grande amoureuse
de la vie et de sa beauté.
Rencontre.
Bonjour Marjane, votre exposition exprime votre
vision de la beauté…
« Je suis une esthète. La beauté me fascine et me
donne beaucoup d’émotion. Une femme belle est
une femme qui rayonne. Pour moi, le vrai secret de
la beauté réside dans l’intelligence et le sens de
l’humour ! Pour être belle, il faut d’abord se sentir
bien ! »
Pour vous, peindre est un besoin ?
« Tout à fait, il en va de mon équilibre mental ! Si je n’ai
pas exposé pendant 7 ans c’est par manque de temps
car je n’ai jamais cessé de peindre. Dès que je le peux,
entre deux tournages par exemple, je reprends mes
pinceaux. Je suis dans ma bulle, je me coupe du reste
et je m’exprime en totale liberté ».
Votre créativité a-t-elle été touchée par le
confinement ?
« J’étais en manque de monde, de bruit, de vie et
donc d’émotion. Je ne suis pas du genre à cuisiner
toute la journée ! Dès que le confinement a pris fin,
je me suis remise à écrire, à peindre, à inventer. J’ai
transformé mes angoisses en inspiration ! ».
For the past 7 years, Marjane Satrapi, a comic book
author, painter, and renowned film director who won
an award at Cannes with her autobiographical work
Persepolis, had not exhibited her work to the public. Until
28 November, she will be showcasing 15 of her paintings
at Paris’s Livinec gallery. This is the perfect opportunity to
discover or rediscover the work of an artist who is deeply
in love with life and its inherent beauty.
Encounter.
Hello Marjane, your exhibition reflects your vision of
beauty...
“I am an aesthete. Beauty fascinates me and arouses many
emotions in me. A beautiful woman is one who radiates.
For me, the true secret of beauty lies in intelligence and
a sense of humour! To be beautiful, you first have to feel
good!”
Is painting a necessity for you?
“Absolutely, it is a question of my mental stability! The
reason I did not show my work for 7 years is due to a
lack of time. I never stopped painting. As soon as I can,
between two shoots for instance, I pick up my brushes
again. I’m in my own bubble, I cut myself away from the
rest of the world and freely express myself”.
Was your creativity impacted by the confinement?
“I was craving for people, noise, life, and hence emotions.
I’m not the kind of person who can cook all day long!
As soon as the confinement ended, I resumed writing,
painting and inventing. I transformed my anxieties into
inspiration!”
