All of the cases,focuses, and positive trapped rats weremapped by determining the waypointsby using GPSMap 76 CSx series and thenthey were processed by using satellite imagedigitally. The using of satellite imageat three plateau (Napu, Lindu, and Bada)include Quickbird images, Ikonos images,SPOT images, Landsat ETM+ images andSRTM RADAR images.This research was descriptive withcross sectional study design. The objectiveof this research was to provide the database and map distribution within focus areas,cases and reservoir that can be used asgeographic information system in schistosomiasiscontrol.This research was conducted in Linduplateau Donggala Regency, Napu and Badaplateau, Poso Regency Central Sulawesi fornine months.This research was divided in threegropus of samples, those were a) case sampleswere people at research location by agetwo years old or more, b) foccus sampleswere all of focus areas where Oncomelaniahupensis lindoensis population live thatwere found at research location, c) reservoirsamples were all of the trapped rats atresearch location.The result shows that schistosomiasisprevalence in Napu and Lindu has increasedwith a prevalence rate of 2.22%and 2.11%.Besides those two areas, new infectedareas were found, that is Bada plateau,with nine new cases. This research alsofound 519 focus areas with 53 of them wasnew focus areas, while infection rate oftrapped rats was 33.33%.Based on satellite image analysis, focusareas distribution were more found atthe break of slope areas, which are alwayswet, and around cultivated land.44 Profil Balitbangkes
