Since June 2006 the second edition of Iserlohn –
the Dornbracht Culture Projects has again been
presenting retrospective views, outlooks and
overviews on Dornbracht’s cultural commitment.
The company’s claim of developing its own cultural
identity and relevance on a continual basis is also
evident in this publication. Here the second edition
is establishing its focus in terms of content: the
transition from Statements editions to Performances:
to artists who transcend genres and boundaries
with their temporary art, in doing so combining
the artificial with real life. In this
edition Ulf Poschardt, the philosopher and cultural
critic, deals with this topic, among others.
The first artistic contribution to the Performances
series came from the New York choreographer
Mark Jarecke, a student of Merce Cunningham,
with his Performance Dendron. Other topics in
this edition include the architect and Dornbracht
Edges exhibition participant David Adjaye and
his concept of transparency, responsibility and
meaningfulness of architecture. Gerrit Terstiege,
editor in chief of FORM design magazine gives
his comments on “The Farm Project”, the current
Dornbracht Edges Project 2006. The publisher of
the Art Review magazine, Ossian Ward, writes
about the history of the creation of the orchid
“The Overwhelming World of Desire” by London
artist Marc Quinn, which he designed for the
Statements 7 exhibition in Venice. Thomas
Rentmeister, also a Statements 7 exhibition artist
and inventor and creator of minimal pop, defines
himself and his art in an interview with the
Bremen curator Susanne Pfeffer. And Klaus
Biesenbach, chief curator of P.S.1, New York
explains in discussion with Susan Sontag and
Marina Abramoviç the origins of the idea behind
Into Me / Out of Me, an exhibition, sponsored by
Dornbracht, whose content and reference is the
human body.

Dal giugno 2006 il secondo numero di Iserlohn –
the Dornbracht Culture Projects presenta nuovamente
retrospettive, previsioni e resoconti dell’impegno
culturale di Dornbracht. L’interesse
dell’azienda di sviluppare in modo costante una
propria identità e rilevanza culturale è attestato
anche dalla presente pubblicazione. Il secondo
numero si sofferma inoltre su un punto contenutistico
importante: il passaggio dalle edizioni
Statements alle Performances: artisti, che con la
loro arte transitoria superano generi e confini.
E congiungono quindi artificio e vita reale. Di
questo tema si occupa tra l’altro nel numero attua-
le il filosofo e critico culturale Ulf Poschardt. Il
primo contributo artistico alla serie Performance è
offerto dal coreografo di New York Mark Jarecke,
allievo di Merce Cunningham, con la performance
Dendron. Altri temi del fascicolo sono tra l’altro
David Adjaye, architetto e partecipante alla mostra
Dornbracht Edges, e la sua idea di trasparenza,
responsabilità e significato dell’architettura. “The
Farm Project”, l’attuale progetto Dornbracht
Edges 2006, viene commentato da Gerrit
Terstiege, caporedattore della rivista di design
FORM. Sulla storia dell’origine dell’orchidea
“The Overwhelming World of Desire” dell’artista
londinese Marc Quinn, che la progettò per la
mostra Statements 7 di Venezia, scrive il curatore
della rivista Art Review, Ossian Ward. Thomas
Rentmeister, anch’egli artista della mostra

Desde junio de 2006 la segunda edición de
Iserlohn – the Dornbracht Culture Projects vuelve
a presentar miradas retrospectivas, perspectivas
y visiones de conjunto sobre el compromiso cultural
de Dornbracht. La pretensión de la empresa,
de desarrollar continuamente una identidad cultural
y una relevancia propias, también se muestra
en la presente publicación. La segunda edición
establece un punto de contenido principal: la transición
de las ediciones de Statements a las
Performances: a los artistas que traspasan fronteras
y géneros con su arte temporal. Y combinan de
esta forma lo artificial con la vida real. De este
tema se ocupa en la presente edición, entre otros,
el filósofo y crítico cultural Ulf Poschardt. La
primera contribución artística a la serie de
Performances la proporcionó el coreógrafo neoyorquino
Mark Jarecke, alumno de la Merce
Cunningham, con su Performance Dendron. Otros
temas de la revista son, entre otros, el arquitecto y
