Group, with the aim of establishing an eco-compatible and
socially responsible textile industry. The whole enterprise is
based on the extra-long staple cotton grown in Egypt’s Nile
Delta, a fiber that is hand-picked without the utilization of
defoliant agents and than processed in accordance with
culminated in NILO, a yarn whose name says it all, paying
homage to the unique fertility of the soil where it is grown,
CARIAGGI - A VIRTUOUS PATH
For ten years this company from Italy Marche Region has
been transforming environmental sustainability into a significant
added value
Cariaggi, a name synonymous with the excellence of products
that have been made in Italy, an international model when it
comes to luxury yarns, has made environmental sustainability
a cornerstone of its company philosophy, coming to regard
it as an added value. Moreover, in addition to regarding this
environmental concern as an opportunity for distinguishing
itself, seeing it as a clever marketing ploy, it has come to regard
it as a genuine moral imperative, motivating it to seek out
informed, evolved paths of development, with a responsible
eye to the welfare of future generations.
Already back in 2006, before the issue of environmental
sustainability had become a trend, Cariaggi has been
awarded certification for having come into compliance with
a whole series of international standards having to do with
environmentally-friendly business management practices: a
recognition in keeping with the spirit of conserving and safeguarding
the environment which has long distinguished the
corporate philosophy of Cariaggi. Over the years the company
has invested enormous resources in programs and measures
aimed at improving it environmental impact and reducing its
consumption of energy, in particular by means of lowering emissions
of CO2 caused by various industrial processes. Among
the various certifications the company has been awarded, it
is especially proud of the ISO 14001, identifying a series of
international standards regarding environmental management;
OHSAS 18001, the international standard for management
of the safety and health of the employees; ITF certification,
identifying traceability all up and down the manufacturing
chain, for greater environmental safety; OekoTex Standard 100,
which guarantees the absence of harmful toxic substances
in the yarns and EECS-GO certification, which ensures the
utilization of 100% renewable energy in the manufacturing
process. And to this day Cariaggi continues to scrupulously
pursue this course, enabling it to guarantee a highly meaningful
added value to its fine products. Currently, the most
tangible example of this commitment is Systema Naturae,
an absolutely natural cashmere yarn, non-allergenic and
ecological, involving vegetal dyeing techniques. As a matter
of fact, the dyeing process utilized for the Systema Naturae
yarns takes place exclusively by means of infusions of herbs,
flowers, berries and roots of medicinal plants, all substances
obtained from vegetal elements, the fruit of ancient herbalbased
formulas, in complete compliance with the tenets of
environmental safety. We are referring to past techniques which
have been recently recovered and rendered modern thanks
to state-of-the-art technologies, ensuring an authentically
“slow” dying process. The utilization of 100% natural dyeing
processes and materials renders the fiber more luxurious and
exclusive, making it possible to obtain unique colors that are
both more beautiful and more authentic. The colors for the
PE 2017 have been carefully selected, with an extra effort on
the part of the company in terms of research, in order to more
effectively respond to the requests expressed by increasingly
demanding and savvy customers.
