PPC´s (zie ook uitgangsvraag 3). Door een co-morbiditeitsindex te gebruiken wordt deze
risicofactor meegewogen.
Opvallend genoeg zijn obesitas en roken geen onafhankelijke risicofactoren voor het
optreden van PPC’s. Echter, hier dient wel de nadruk gelegd te worden op het woord
onafhankelijk. Uiteraard is er wel een associatie met co-morbiditeit van deze factoren
waardoor het risico mogelijk toch verhoogd is.
Aanbevelingen
Patiënt gerelateerde risicofactoren voor het optreden van PPC´s zijn:
- leeftijd
- COPD
- hartfalen
De patiënt gerelateerde risicofactoren dienen mee te wegen in de overweging of de ingreep
plaats dient te vinden, de grootte van de ingreep en de keuze van anesthesie.
De werkgroep is van mening dat het gebruik van een morbiditeit index (ASA, Charlston
comorbiditeits index) aan te bevelen is omdat het een voorspellende waarde geeft van de
kans op het optreden van PPC’s.
