Analysemethoden en pré-analytische aspecten
Een bijkomend probleem bij de interpretatie van de vitamine D status ontstaat door de
soms grote verschillen tussen de diverse methodes (12), inclusief de verschillende
kruisreactiviteit t.a.v. het plantaardige D2 dat in Amerika veelvuldig als supplement of
medicatie gebruikt. Als referentiemethode geldt LS-MS-MS. Naast de traditionele RIA
methoden met voorafgaande extractie wordt de HPLC methode nog veel gebruikt. Er
zijn een tweetal volledig geautomatiseerde methode momenteel beschikbaar afkomstig
van DiaSorin en Roche (sinds augustus 2007), hetgeen gezien de explosieve groei van
het aantal aanvragen dringend gewenst is.
Uit eigen onderzoek blijkt dat, mits in natuurlijke omgeving als serum, vitamine D préanalytisch
een zeer stabiel analiet is, waarvoor geen bijzondere afname of transport
faciliteiten noodzakelijk zijn bij routine onderzoek voor kliniek of huisarts.
