Grande arca de tampa ligeiramente abaulada,
de madeira revestida a couro pintado. É
reforçada por cintas de ferro forjado (apenas
algumas originais) que rematam em
bifurcado espalmado. Tem três fechaduras de
ferro, uma de menores dimensões ao centro
e duas laterais maiores, tipicamente
quinhentistas, com espelhos quadrangulares
fixados por grampos verticais em forma de
colunelo e ferrolhos altamente decorativos.
No painel dianteiro da arca está pintada uma
cena de corte. À esquerda vê-se um jovem
casal aristocrático sentado a uma mesa,
rodeado de serviçais e acompanhantes
desfrutando de uma refeição ao ar livre. Do
lado direito o mesmo casal passeia num
jardim. As ilhargas da arca também
revestidas a couro estão decoradas com um
motivo geométrico entrelaçado pintado,

A large, slightly domed top coffer, the wood
core overlaid with painted leather. Forged
iron strap work (mostly of a later date) of a
flattened split end design reinforces the
body. The coffer has an iron lock in the
middle, and two larger ones on either end,
all of a typical 16th century design, with
rectangular escutcheon plates secured by
vertical baluster shaped fastenings and
highly decorative hasps. The front panel is
painted with a court scene. On the left an
aristocratic young couple sits at a table
surrounded by servants and attendants,
enjoying an outdoor meal. On the right, the
