Caixa de teca e ébano, de secção rectangular,
com montagens de prata. As molduras de
ébano contrastando com a teca mais clara
funcionam como elemento decorativo e
também de reforço, uma vez que o ébano é
uma madeira extremamente densa. As
cantoneiras de prata com ornatos
vegetalistas em trabalho repuxado são
também decorativas e reforçam e protegem
os cantos. O espelho da fechadura em forma
de coração apresenta o mesmo tipo de

A teak and ebony shallow rectangular
section box with silver mounts. Ebony
frames contrasting with the lighter coloured
teak are decorative and also reinforcing
elements as ebony is an extremely hard
wood. The box is further embellished and
reinforced with silver corner mounts with
embossed flower and foliage decoration. The
heart-shaped lock plate displays similar
decoration. Two pairs of flower shaped silver
knobs have become mainly decorative
elements. The oval side carrying handles are
also in silver. The interior is well fitted
revealing three small drawers, two large
compartments for writing implements and
three small compartments with glass inkwells
with silver tops.
