1st Forum for Young Composers for young musicians who live
and work in Germany or Portugal, 17-20 May, Lisbon, Portugal

In order to encourage the creation and circulation of new music
works, the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble and the Goethe-Institut
Portugal are organizing the 1st Forum for Young Composers, which
will take place between the 17th and the 20th of May 2011 in
Lisbon.
The "1st Sond’Ar-te International Forum for Young Composers" is
aimed to offer an opportunity to young music authors to compose
new music and present it to a wider audience. The organizers intend
to create a privileged space for exchanging ideas and experience
between young composers and performers as well as organize a
public performance of new works with the participation of the
Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble.
The Forum is open to all composers who live and work in Portugal
or in Germany and who are under the age of 35 at the registration
deadline.
The submitted works should last between 5 and 10 minutes and are
to be written obligatorily for the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble’s
complete core instrumental set: flute, clarinet, piano, violin, cello
and electronics – in real-time or pre-recorded, for a maximum of 4
sources of diffusion. The works must use the ensemble’s complete
formation - note that the flute can double in piccolo, alto flute and
bass flute; the clarinet can double in Eb clarinet, A clarinet and bass
clarinet and the piano can double in midi keyboard.
All applications should be submitted at the latest by the 15th of
March 2011 (until 11:59 p.m.) via internet only, in 1
single Zip File by UPLOAD on the Miso Music’s FTP at the
following web address.
