O número total acumulado de taxa na Região Macaronésica<br />

é de 792 espécies e subespécies, dos quais apenas<br />

64 taxa são comuns a todos os arquipélagos. Existem 21<br />

taxa de hepáticas e 43 taxa de musgos comuns aos quatro<br />

arquipélagos (Quadro 3). Os resultados são também elucidativos<br />

das diferenças no estado de conhecimento da bri<strong>of</strong>lora<br />

nos diferentes arquipélagos, est<strong>and</strong>o provavelmente<br />

subestimada a bri<strong>of</strong>lora de Cabo Verde.<br />

The number <strong>of</strong> taxa in Macaronesia is 792, from which<br />

only 64 are common to all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>archipelagos</strong>. From <strong>the</strong>se<br />

taxa, 21 are liverwort species/subspecies <strong>and</strong> 43 are mosses<br />

(see table 3). These values also indicate a difference in<br />

<strong>the</strong> state <strong>of</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> respective bryophyte flora, leading<br />

to <strong>the</strong> conclusion that <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> species in Cape<br />

Verde is particularly undervalued.<br />
