A Madeira e os restantes arquipélagos macaronésicos
podem ser comparados quanto ao número de taxa nativos,
endémicos e introduzidos. A Fig. 7 permite concluir que o
arquipélago das Canárias apresenta o maior número de taxa
endémicos exclusivos (67,8%) e nativos, a Madeira apresenta
o segundo maior número de endemismos (16,2%) e
plantas autóctones. Açores e Cabo Verde apresentam números
similares no que diz respeito à endemicidade (respectivamente,
7,5 e 7,2%), mas o arquipélago mais meridional
apresenta maior número de plantas nativas.
The number of native, endemic and introduced taxa occurring
in the Madeira Archipelago and in the other Macaronesian
archipelagos can thus be compared. Figure 7 shows
that the Canarian archipelago has the highest number of
native and exclusive endemic taxa (67.8%) and Madeira
presents the second largest number of autochthonous and
endemic plants (16.2%). The Azores and Cape Verde have
a similar number of endemic vascular plant taxa (respectively
7.5 and 7.2%), but the southernmost archipelago has
a larger number of native plants. The number of introduced
