de Richard Thomas Lowe (1802 -1874) no século XIX,
principalmente as descritas nos Transactions of the Cambridge
Philosophical Society vol. 4 de 1831 e na sua Manual
Flora of Madeira and the Adjacent Islands of Porto Santo and
the Desertas, publicada de 1857 a 1872.
Os endemismos exclusivos dos arquipélagos da Madeira
e Selvagens distribuem -se de forma idêntica ao que antes
se referiu para o conjunto das plantas vasculares, i.e., as

Tertiae from 1782, both from the XVIII century. These were
followed by the work of Richard Thomas Lowe (1802 -1874)
during the XIX century, particularly his contributions to the
Transactions of the Cambridge Philosophical Society vol.
4 from 1831 and his Manual Flora of Madeira and the Adjacent
Islands of Porto Santo and the Desertas published
between 1857 and 1872.
The geographic distribution of the exclusive endemic
taxa of the archipelagos of Madeira and Selvagens follows
the same pattern obtained for the whole group of vascular
plants, i.e., the larger islands possess a higher number of
