O que mais gosta na cidade?
Realmente vou bastante para Curitiba, gosto muito da
cidade, das pessoas, dos restaurantes, a cidade é linda.
Inclusive cheguei a morar durante alguns meses em Curitiba,
estudei na cidade quando tinha 17 anos. Mas o que
mais chama a minha atenção é a educação e a hospitalidade
do curitibano. Certa vez, há anos, estive com minha
família, pedi informação para pessoa ao lado no semáforo
fechado, queria saber o caminho para sair da cidade, nesta
época não existia nem GPS nos carros. A pessoa tentou me
explicar, mas sentiu que estava meio complicado, o sinal
abriu, ele veio atrás e acenou com a mão (me segue), fui
atrás, ele saiu da cidade comigo e me guiou até a saída
para São Paulo. Ele se dispôs a andar uns 20 minutos até a
estrada só porque percebeu que estávamos perdidos, isso
não acontece com frequência, nunca esqueci, e a atitude
dele me influenciou, porque tento sempre fazer o mesmo
quando encontro a mesma oportunidade.
Começou a carreira na Malhação. Como era naquela
época e o que mudou?
Tenho mais experiência, depois de Malhação já participei
de umas 15 novelas e séries. Cada dia fica mais divertido
interpretar, trabalho com mais naturalidade, mais segurança.
Claro que tenho muito que aprender, todo trabalho é
um desafio diferente.
Assiste aos seus trabalhos na televisão?
Sim. Todos, cada cena, porque me ajuda a me aperfeiçoar.
Novelas são gravadas com uma rapidez enorme, então
acaba-se errando bastante também, as vezes erros que
o telespectador não percebe, mas o olhar crítico do ator
não deixa passar.
Fez um dos primeiros casais homossexuais da TV brasileira.
Sofreu algum preconceito na época? Como foi a
experiência?
Acho que sempre irá haver preconceitos de certos telespectadores,
é comum pessoas terem suas opiniões, no
meu caso o preconceito foi praticamente nulo. O Rodrigo

I come to Curitiba a lot, I very much like the City, the people,
the restaurants, and the City is beautiful. I even lived here
for a few months in Curitiba. I studied here when I was 17.
But what draws one’s attention is Curitiba’s culturedness and
hospitality. Once, years ago, I was with my family, I asked for
information from the person stopped next to me at a traffic
light, I wanted to know the way out of the city, at the time
GPS did not exist in phones, let alone in cars. The person
tried to explain to me, but I felt that it was a little complicated
and the light turned green and the driver moved forward and
waved his hand, “follow me”, I followed, and he guided me
to the exit to São Paulo. He was willing to drive for about 20
minutes out of his way just because he realized that we were
lost. That doesn’t happen very often. I will never forget this,
and his attitude influenced me greatly, because I always try
to do the same when I find someone in the same situation.
You began your career in Malhação. What was it like back
then and what has changed?
I have more experience. After Malhação, I participated in
15 other soaps or series. Each day, it has become more fun
to take on a role, the work has become more natural, and I
am more sure of myself. Of course, I still have a lot to learn,
every role is a different challenge.
Do you watch yourself on television?
Yes. Everything, every scene I have participated in, because
it helps me improve. Soaps are taped at an enormous speed,
so you end up missing a lot too, sometimes errors occur that
the viewer never notices, but the critical eye of the actor
doesn’t let them pass.
You were part of one of the first gay couples played on Brazilian
TV. At the time, did you suffer by being considered
a xenophobe? What was the experience like?
I think that there will always be a predisposition by certain
viewers, it is common for people to have their own opinions
but, in my case, suffering from any predispositions was practically
nil. Rodrigo was a character who was very successful,
