to the environment contributes to the “premiumization”
in the disposable tissue and paper towel market. The
ecological aspect increases the competitiveness of biodegradable
tissues and paper towels in relation to traditional
sanitary and cleaning products, such as reusable fabrics.
Also, the growing use of plant-based substrates (e.g.,
wood pulp) and additives (such as aloe, cucumber extract,
or melaleuca oil) replacing petroleum-based ingredients
increases the appeal of tissue paper amongst consumers.
This not only makes tissue paper more competitive when
compared to more traditional products, such as reusable
