O principal destino de exportações do
Mato Grosso do Sul foi a China, com 41,5%
do total. Os EUA (Estados Unidos da América)
tiveram crescimento de 78,77% de participação,
e o Japão teve 267,7% de expansão.
IMPACTOS
As empresas do setor tiveram impactos
particulares neste cenário. Para a Suzano Papel
e Celulose, o terceiro trimestre de 2019 marcou
o crescimento das vendas de celulose e
uma redução significativa no nível de estoques
mantidos na sua cadeia de abastecimento, segundo
resultados divulgados pela companhia.
A empresa encerrou o período de julho
a setembro com receita líquida de R$ 6,6
bilhões, Ebitda (lucro antes de juros, impostos,
depreciação e amortização) ajustado de R$
2,4 bilhões e geração de caixa operacional de
R$ 1,5 bilhão. O resultado foi consequência
da estratégia comercial, segundo o Presidente
da Suzano, Walter Schalka.
“A estratégia comercial adotada, atrelada
à qualidade de nossos ativos e à eficiência de
nossas operações, nos permitiu atingir significativa
geração de caixa operacional mesmo
diante do ambiente de mercado atual e de um
período sazonalmente mais fraco em função
do verão no Hemisfério Norte”, afirmou
Schalka recentemente.
O ritmo de vendas de celulose manteve
trajetória de alta no período, com a comercialização
de 2,549 milhões de toneladas. O
volume vendido é 15% maior do que o total
vendido entre abril e junho e também superior
à produção registrada no terceiro trimestre,
que ficou em 2,095 milhões de toneladas. Isso
ocasionou redução no nível dos estoques da
Suzano, na ordem de 450 mil toneladas, marcando
o início do processo de regularização
de estoques da empresa.
O período também registrou queda de 6%
no custo caixa de celulose, desconsideran-
to expand its market for other traditional products,
such as corn, which recorded a 370% increase over
the same period in 2018. The Government renewed
R$ corn price parity, and this has favored the growth
of exports,” says Jaime Verruck, State Secretary of
Semagro
The leading destination for exports by the State
of Mato Grosso do Sul was China, with 41.5%
of the total. Exports to the United States grew by
78.8% and to Japan by 267.7%.
IMPACTS
Companies in the Sector have been impacted
differently in this scenario. For Suzano Papel e
Celulose, the 2019 third quarter marked growth in
pulp sales and a significant reduction in the level of
inventories maintained in its supply chain, according
to the results released by the Company.
The Company ended the period from July to
September with net revenue of R$ 6.6 billion, Ebitda
(earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and
amortization) of R$ 2.4 billion, and operating cash
flow of R$ 1.5 billion. The result was a consequence
of the commercial strategy, according to Walter
Schalka, President of Suzano.
“The commercial strategy adopted, linked to the
quality of our assets and the efficiency of our operations,
has enabled us to achieve significant operating
cash generation even in the face of the current
market environment and a seasonally weaker period
in function of summer conditions in the Northern
Hemisphere,” Schalka said recently.
The pace of pulp sales maintained its bullish trajectory
during the period, with 2.55 million metric
tons in sales. The volume sold was 15% higher than
the total sold between April and June and stood at
2.10 million metric tons. This caused a reduction
in Suzano’s inventories, in the order of 450 thousand
metric tons, marking the beginning of the
Company’s inventory regularization process.
Cash pulp costs during the period dropped 6%
when compared to the second quarter of this year,
disregarding the effect of factory stoppages. The
