<strong>Itapecerica</strong> stands out in Education<br />
Municipal School of Arts and Culture<br />
(EMAC) continues at a fast pace of<br />
recordings of virtual programs<br />
EMAC professors are committed to a<strong>da</strong>pting<br />
programs, previously on-site, to the online version. Since<br />
April, students and others interested in the mo<strong>da</strong>lities<br />
offered by the school can register for courses that are<br />
taught remotely.<br />
Qualified workforce: Univesp<br />
<strong>Itapecerica</strong> <strong>da</strong> <strong>Serra</strong> Polo<br />
Univesp - Virtual University of the State of São Paulo<br />
has a pole in <strong>Itapecerica</strong> <strong>da</strong> <strong>Serra</strong> offering Licentiate<br />
and Computing courses. There are 28 places available<br />
for Licentiate (Literature, Mathematics or Pe<strong>da</strong>gogy)<br />
and 28 for Computer Engineering. The classes are held<br />
in a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), an online<br />
platform.<br />
Literary window encourages safe<br />
reading in isolation<br />
Through the Literary Window Project, launched by<br />
the Department of Culture of <strong>Itapecerica</strong> <strong>da</strong> <strong>Serra</strong>,<br />
citizens can have secure access to the library’s books. The<br />
action consists of making the books available through<br />
the Central Library window where the participant<br />
must sanitize their hands before contacting the desired<br />
book, thus contributing to the non-interruption of this<br />
leisure and citizen’s right of reading.<br />
Quality education<br />
Quality education is the key that guarantees<br />
citizens to be more prepared for the labor market.<br />
The first “School Group” of <strong>Itapecerica</strong> <strong>da</strong> <strong>Serra</strong> was<br />
created on October <strong>22</strong> of 1935 and was named Padre<br />
Belchior de Pontes.<br />
According to the <strong>Itapecerica</strong> <strong>da</strong> <strong>Serra</strong> Longevity<br />
Institute, it achieved a score of 80.01 in the Firjan<br />
Municipal Development Index - Education. And<br />
according to a QEdu survey, when we are talking about<br />
the public network of <strong>Itapecerica</strong> <strong>da</strong> <strong>Serra</strong>, for every<br />
100 students, only two were not approved.<br />

receive the Food Card<br />
The Municipal Department of Education has<br />
delivered the Food Card to School Units. All students<br />
regularly enrolled in the local education network and<br />
partner institutions will be entitled to the card with<br />
the respective values according to the type of education:<br />
Daycare (R$109.20)<br />
Kindergarten (R$86.45) Elementary School, Special<br />
Education, and EJA (R$54.60). This initiative aims<br />
to promote the local economy and guarantee food for<br />
students and their families.<br />
