Support for teachers
The advances in Suzano’s education, even in periods
so different for her, did not stop there. Taking care
of professionals in the area was also on the agenda
at several meetings, such as in a conference with the
Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), where the teaching
career plan was the main agenda. A unique partnership
with the institution, the city managed to obtain 750
scholarships for employees of the Municipal Department
of Education, with 100 places in the MBA in School
Management course and 650 in the improvement
course “Learning Trail for School Managers”. The
municipality teachers participated in a welcoming
moment with the Department of Health online, which
sought to offer support and important psychological
tools to be worked on in this period of resumption and
adaptation of educators.
Suzano distributes school
supplies kits to students
To make the distance learning experience more
profitable for students, the school supplies kits, with
all items that are delivered in the classroom year,
were distributed to students in early February 2021.
Each school year, received a matching kit with your
curriculum. Over February, more than
27,000 kits were made available to
serve all elementary school students in
the city.
Already thinking about the post-pandemic period,
Suzano did not fail to seek infrastructure for the area.
The city sought resources for the construction of a
school unit in Jardim Quaresmeira. The expectation is
that there will be a unit that meets the final years of
elementary and full secondary education, covering at
least 800 students.
Knowledge transforms, and even in such difficult
times, the team that dedicates its life to the area of
knowledge reinvents itself and seeks to highlight each
student’s most positive aspects. Human values and
respect for individuality are priority issues for education
in Swaziland. This year, amid the pandemic of the
new coronavirus (Covid-19), the municipal secretary
strives to reinforce the Culture of Peace’s importance
through a special video made available on the TV
channel Prefeitura de Suzano, on YouTube ( bit.ly/
TVPrefeituradeSuzano).
In fact, the municipality was awarded by the State
government for Innovative Practices in Education and
for its intersectoral work in welcoming students from the
municipal education network. The result was achieved
thanks to the “Preventing School Violence” project,
which works to identify vulnerable elementary school
students, with family and interdisciplinary monitoring.
In addition to school supplies, the
kit also has a support book provided
by the State Department of Education
for children to perform activities
at home, and a set of oral hygiene
with brush and toothpaste, offered
in partnership with the Municipal
Department of Health to encourage
students to maintain the brushing
habit.
