Famous People Visit Trilye
FAMOUS FLAMENCO DANCER
A GUEST AT TR‹LYE
In Ankara as part of the 6th International Ankara Flamenco
Festival, Maria Jose Franco visited Trilye following
one of her performances. Born in Cadiz and introduced
to flamenco when she was just five years old, Franco
began dancing professionally with dancers such as
Carmen Cortes and Eva La Yerbabuena, later forming a
group with them and giving many performances. She pursued
her studies in flamenco at the Sevilla Dance Conservatory
in Classic Ballet and Classic Spanish Dance. In
1991 and 1992, she consecutively won first place both years
in the Huelva Young Flamenco Dancer’s Competition.
Franco and her colleagues mezmerized the audience in their performances, which were held at the
Middle East Technical University’s Performance Center. They came to Trilye following the performances
and were quite pleased. After taking the group’s photo, we adhered the photo to a bottle
of Angora wine, which is an old name of Ankara, and presented it to the group as a gift. Franco,
and her colleagues, Juan Manuel Moneo, Luis Lara Moneo, Joaquin Marin Flores and Carlos Merino
Mempel mentioned that they were exhausted when they left the restaurant, but were already
very excited about participating in next year’s performance.
FAMOUS CHINESE DOCTOR
VISITS TR‹LYE
Traditional Chinese medicine has a
quite prestigious position in the
world. A number of foreigners travel to
China as tourists, and to seek medical treatments
with Chinese medicine at the same
time.
Yue Weijun is one of the names at the top
of the list in the medical world. Weijun lives
in Ankara, and is the owner of the
Chinese Medical Massage and Physical
Therapy Center. After healing a minister
who had suffered from migraine headaches
for 20 years, he earned his reputation
and he healed many other well-known
politicians and businessmen.
In November, Mr. Yue came to Trilye as the guest of famous dentist Prof. Dr. Yaşar Aykaç. After Dr.
Aykaç, a reputable doctor himself, mentioned to me that “He saved my wife’s life,” I knew I had
to meet this Chinese miracle worker. His eyes lit up when he spoke about his focus on finding solutions
to a number of people’s problems. His name has been spoken of numerous times at Trilye,
but this was the first time he visited. He left the restaurant very pleased, promising to return more
frequently in the future.
