In July 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Pope Francis
announced that the next World Youth
Days would be held in Kraków. Thus, for
the second time in history, Poland has become
a host of such a great event (in 1991
WYD were held in Częstochowa).
Between 25 July and 01 August 2016,
Kraków will welcome about 2 million
young people from all around the world.
However, pilgrims will arrive in Poland a
week earlier in order to take part in the
so-called „Days in Dioceses” which, since
1997, have been the first stage of World
Youth Days.
The motto of this year’s World Youth
Days are the words from St. Matthew’s
Gospel: „Blessed are the merciful: for
they shall obtain mercy”. They are meant
to encourage young people to be merciful,
help others and follow the example of
such great Poles as St. Faustina Kowalska
and St. John Paul II.
Archidiecezja Łódzka organizuje
u siebie program
„Dni w diecezjach”, w którym
weźmie udział około 15
tysięcy młodych z zagranicy
i 5 tysięcy osób z naszego
regionu. Spodziewani są goście
między innymi z Francji,
Włoch, Hiszpanii, Węgier,
Słowenii, Kolumbii, USA, Kanady,
Brazylii, Mozambiku,
Zimbabwe, Filipin, Ugandy,
Indii i Korei.
W Archidiecezji Łódzkiej w ramach „Dni
w diecezjach” możemy wziąć udział w jednym
z czterech programów przygotowanych
przez poszczególne grupy:
- Festiwal MAGIS: 15–17.07.2016 (Łódź)
- Festiwal „Paradise in the city”: 19–25.07.2016
(Łódź)
- Program diecezjalny: 20–25.07.2016 (cała
diecezja)
- Klaretyńskie Dni Młodzieży: 20–25.07.2016
(Łódź)
Pielgrzymi, którzy przybędą do diecezji łódzkiej
będą mieli możliwość zarówno duchowo
przeżyć ten czas (katechezy, wspólna modlitwa,
adoracja, droga krzyżowa , msza św.), jak
i też zostaną im stworzone odpowiednie warunki
do lepszego poznania kultury polskiej
(mieszkanie u rodzin, zwiedzanie województwa,
warsztaty, koncerty i inne wydarzenia).
Wszyscy uczestnicy poszczególnych programów
spotkają się na wspólnej Mszy Świętej
24 lipca, która zostanie odprawiona w łódzkiej
Atlas Arenie.
Archdiocese of Łódź organizes its
„Days in Dioceses” program for about 15
thousand young people from abroad and
5 thousand people from our region. The
guests are expected to arrive from France,
Italy, Spain, Hungary, Slovenia, Columbia,
USA, Canada, Brazil, Mozambik, Zimbabwe,
Uganda, Indiaand Korea, and other
countries. During the „Days in Dioceses” in
the Archdiocese of Łódź, you can take part
in one of four programs prepared by individual
groups:
- MAGIS Festival: 15–17 July 2016 (Łódź)
- „Paradise in the city” Festival: 19–25 July
2016 (Łódź)
- Diocesan program: July 20th – 25th 2016
(the whole diocese)
- Klaretyńskie Youth Days: July 20th – 25th
2016 (Łódź)
Pilgrims who will arrive to the Diocese of Łódź
will have an opportunity to experiece that
time spiritually (catechesis, common prayer,
adoration, Way of the Cross, Mass), but they
will also have an opportunity to learn more
about Polish culture (living with host families,
voivodeship sightseeing, workshops, concerts
and other events).
All the participants of individual programs
will meet in the Atlas Arena in Łódź during
the common Mass on July 24th.
