Scheibler przyjechał z Nadrenii,
najpierw do podłódzkiego Ozorkowa,
a później do Łodzi. Z czasem stał się

Schleiber arrived from Rhineland, first
to Ozorków near Łódź, and then to Łódź
itself. With time, he became the richest
manufacturer in the Kingdom of
Poland. His factory empire included,
among others, the huge Cotton Mill
(today, after the revitalization, there
are loft apartments) and the Fire Station
building (Tymienieckiego Street),
a housing estate for workers (Księży
Młyn Street) with the buildings of the
former factory school, a shop, and the
so-called Centrala – the complex of factory
buildings and the palace (currently
Museum of Cinematography) near Plac
Zwycięstwa (former Wodny Rynek).
