Scope 1 Emissions: These are direct GHG emissions from sources
that are owned or controlled by the entity
Scope 2 Emissions: Indirect GHG emissions from consumption of
purchased electricity, heat or steam
Scope 3 Emissions: Other indirect emissions, such as the extraction
and production of purchased materials and fuels, transport-related
activities in vehicles not owned or controlled by the reporting entity,
electricity-related activities (e.g. T&D losses) not covered in Scope 2,
outsourced activities, waste disposal etc.
Stakeholders: A person, group or organization that has interest or
concern in an organization. Stakeholders can affect or be affected by
the organization’s actions, objectives and policies.
Stewardship: It is an ethic that embodies the responsible planning
and management of resources.
Sustainability: Sustainability is meeting the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their
own needs.
Whistleblower: Anyone who has and reports insider knowledge of
illegal activities occurring in an organization
