หนังสือออกแบบทางสถาปัตยกรรม

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN BOOKS
นับตั้งแต่โลกใช้ตัวอักษรในการส่งต่อข้อมูล การบันทึก
ความรู้ยังเป็นเรื่องของอํานาจเฉพาะกลุ่ม การครอบครองต้อง
ผ่านการคัดลอกเล่มต่อเล่ม แต่เมื่อระบบพิมพ์เริ่มนํามาใช้
มนุษย์ก็เริ่มที่จะเท่าเทียมกัน ความรู้กลายเป็นของทุกคน
หมวดออกแบบเป็นเรื่องเฉพาะกลุ่ม ในอดีตนั้นมีรูปแบบที่
เต็มไปด้วยตัวอักษร เข้มข้นไปด้วยเนื้อหาวิชาการ หรืออันที่จริง
ควรเรียกว่าตํารา ที่แบกความหมายเชิงความรู้มากกว่าอ่านเอา
เพลิน อาจไม่มีคําแนะนําที่เหมาะสมกับหนังสือที่ดีที่สุด การ
เลือกอ่านจึงเป็นเรื่องที่สอดคล้องกับแต่ละบุคคลไป
หมวดวารสารโลกตะวันตกอย่าง EL Croquis, The Architecture
Review, Architectural Record, ABITARE, I’ARCH,
TOPOS, OFARCH, I’ARCH, domus, Wallpaper* ฯลฯ เป็น
หัวหอกที่คอหนังสือคุ้นเคยในหลายปีที่ผ่านมา
หมวดหนังสือแนวบทความ วิวาทะ ทัศนะ และทฤษฎี ซึ่ง
มักเขียนโดยนักวิชาการ และตัวสถาปนิกเอง เช่น THINKING
ARCHITECTURE, ATMOSPHERES โดย Peter Zumthor กลุ่ม
หนังสือ Talks (Conversations) with Students ของเหล่าตํานาน
อย่าง Le Corbusier, Louis I. Khan, Rem Koolhaas หรือ
Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture โดย Robert
Venturi ฯลฯ ก็เป็นกลุ่มที่มีแฟนคลับเฉพาะไว้คอยตามเก็บ
สะสม
หมวดวารสารฝั่งเอเชียนั้นมาทีหลัง รายชื่ออย่าง GA, AU,
JA, CASA BRUTUS, PROCESS, DI, la china, C3, iSh, art4D
ก็ทําหน้าที่คลื่นลูกใหม่ที่ประคองวงการออกแบบไว้ได้อย่างดี
รวมถึงพวกหนังสือแนวรวมผลงานของสถาปนิกดังแถบนี้อย่าง
SAANA, Sou Fujimoto, Tadao Undo, Kengo Kuma, Toyo
Ito, Junya Ishigami, BAWA, Ma Yangsong, A49, WOHA
etc ก็ขยันออกหนังสือของตัวเองอย่างคึกคักให้แฟนๆ ติดตาม
กันอย่างสมํ่ำเสมอ
หนังสือทําหน้าที่แบกความหมายความเข้าใจหลายระดับ
มานับพันปีปัจจุบันดูเหมือนว่าต้องแบกความถดถอยของความ
นิยมเพิ่มไปอีกอย่าง การพัฒนารูปแบบที่จําเป็นต่อการปรับตัว
เลยกลายเป็นเรื่องที่น่าสนใจในลําดับถัดมา การเดินทางของ
หนังสือระดับ 2,000-3,000 ปี คงไม่ได้จบกันง่ายๆ และยังคง
น่าติดตามต่อไป
Since characters have been used to pass on information,
the recording of knowledge has been the power
of certain groups of people. This possession of power
could only be done by copying: volume by volume.
However, when the printing press was invented,
people became more equal. Knowledge can belong to
anyone.
The topic of design is a niche. In the past, the format
for this category was full of letters and rich academic
content. Therefore, most publications should actually be
considered textbooks because it is meant for technical
knowledge rather than for pleasure. There may not be a
suitable recommendation on the best books. The selections
for a reading list depend on each individual.
For western magazines such as EL Croquis, The
Architecture Review, Architectural Record, ABITARE,
I’ARCH, TOPOS, OFARCH, I’ARCH, domus, Wallpaper*,
these are the leaders that book fans have been familiar
with for the past several years.
For the book style that focuses on articles, debates,
opinions, and theories, these are usually written by
academians and architects themselves. Example titles
include THINKING ARCHITECTURE and ATMOSPHERES by
Peter Zumthor, the book group Talks (Conversations) with
Students by the legendary Le Corbusier, Louis I. Khan,
and Rem Koolhaas, or Complexity and Contradiction in
Architecture by Robert Venturi. These books are collected
by a special fan club.

Asian journals come later and a list includes GA, AU,
JA, CASA BRUTUS, PROCESS, DI, la china, C3, iSh, art4D.
They are the new wave that supports the design business
very well. In addition, there are books that showcase
the works by famous architects in this zone like SAANA,
Sou Fujimoto, Tadao Undo, Kengo Kuma, Toyo Ito, Junya
Ishigami, BAWA, Ma Yangsong, A49, and WOHA, who
regularly release their own books for fans.
Books serve as a way to carry meanings and understanding
for thousands of years. Now, it has to bear the
fact that books have become less popular. The change
of book format is necessary for adaptation, and is an
interesting subject. The journey of books has been 2,000-
3,000 years, so it won’t be ending easily. To be continued.
