ADNOC strives to reduce emissions and boost oil recovery<br />
As countries reduce greenhouse gas emissions and free up gas used in oil<br />
recovery for use in other industries and power generation, CCUS (Carbon<br />
Capture Utilization and Storage) is becoming increasingly popular. Abu Dhabi<br />
National Oil Company (ADNOC) started their first carbon capture program in<br />
2009 and aims to further expand their capacity in 2019 with either their Shah<br />
ultra-sour gas plant or Habshan-Bab gas processing facility. Voicing his support<br />
for CCUS, Executive Office Director, Omar Al Suwaidi stated, “Not only does the<br />
technology help address environmental concerns by safely locking away CO2,<br />
but it also enables valuable and cleaner burning gas.” The state-owned company<br />
targets a six-fold increase with plans to capture 5 million tonnes of CO2 per year<br />
before 2030.<br />

ديب العالمية، وإحدى مبادراتنا الرئيسة يف<br />
هذا المجال هو برنامجنا للطاقة الشمسية<br />
الذي سيولد عند اكتماله كهرباء تكفي<br />
لتشغيل 4600 منزل. وتتضمن االتفاقية<br />
عقد تأجير مدته 22 عاماً.<br />
أدنوك تسعى إلى الحد من االنبعاثات وتعزيز استرداد النفط<br />
مع تخفيض الدول النبعاثات غازات االحتباس<br />
الحراري وتحرير الغاز المستخدم يف استعادة النفط<br />
الستخدامه يف صناعات أخرى وتوليد الطاقة، أصبحت<br />
تقنية CCUS )استخدام وتخزين الكربون( أكثر انتشاراً.<br />
وبدأت شركة بترول أبوظبي الوطنية )أدنوك( أول<br />
برنامج الحتجاز الكربون يف عام 2009، وتهدف إىل<br />
زيادة قدرتها على التوسع يف عام 2019؛ إما عبر<br />
مصنعها للغاز الحامضي أو من خالل منشأة حبشان<br />
باب. ويف معرض اإلعراب عن دعمه لهذه التقنية، قال<br />
عمر السويدي، مدير المكتب التنفيذي يف الشركة:<br />
"إن هذه التكنولوجيا ال تساعدنا فقط يف التقليل من<br />
المخاطر البيئية من خالل حجز غاز ثاين أكسيد الكربون<br />
بأمان، ولكنها أيضاً تمكّننا من حرق الغاز بقيمة أفضل<br />
وأكثر نظافة". وتسعى أدنوك إىل مضاعفة معدالت<br />
حجز غاز ثاين أكسيد الكربون ليصل إىل 5 ماليين طن<br />
سنوياً قبل عام 2030.<br />
DP World contributes to UAE’s green strategy<br />
Though already at the forefront of renewable energy innovation,<br />
DP World continues to stride forward. The global<br />
trade enabler’s strategic partnership with UAE’s leading<br />
provider of solar roof plants, SirajPower, further supports its<br />
long-term growth plan. Mohammed Al Muallem, CEO and<br />
Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region, clarified the importance<br />
of the agreement stating, “Creating a sustainable<br />
business model through the implementation of green technologies<br />
is a core focus for DP World, and one of our key initiatives<br />
is our ground-breaking Solar Power Programme that will<br />
generate enough energy to power 4,600 homes upon completion.”<br />
The agreement includes a 22-year lease agreement that<br />
financially aids the company on energy consumption.<br />
