Bogenses Geschichte lässt sich viele Jahre zurückverfolgen
und bereits 1288 wurde Bogense Handelsstadtrechte erteilt. Das
älteste Haus wurde 1543 erbaut. Die Kirche stammt aus dem Mittelalter
und ist dem Schutzheiligen der Seefahrer geweiht. Sie liegt
passenderweise auf einem Steilhang an der Küste und der Turm diente
als Seezeichen. Neben der Kirche liegt ein gemütlicher, alter
Marktplatz, auf dem Sie Dänemarks kleinstes Haus sehen können.
Bogense ist heute eine sehr touristenfreundliche Stadt mit modernen
Anlagen und einem großen Ferienhausgebiet. Die Stadt hat
ein aktives Handels- und Kulturleben und viele gemütliche Cafés
und Restaurants. Ein Markttag findet ganzjährig jeden Donnerstag
auf dem alten Marktplatz Torvet statt. Im alten Hafen pulsiert das
Leben und er wirkt mit seinen Restaurants und Geschäften sehr
einladend. Die Bogense Marina ist mit 700 Liegeplätzen Fünens
Größte. Östlich von Bogense liegt der Golfplatz Gyldensteen Golf
mit seinen Ferienhäusern.
Das Glockenspiel in Bogense
Mehrmals täglich können Sie die schönen Melodien des Glockenspiels
im Turm vom Rathaus von Bogense hören. Es spielt verschiedene
Melodien aus einem großen Repertoire. Im Touristenbüro
von Bogense hängt eine Liste mit Uhrzeiten und Melodien. Das
Glockenspiel war ein Geschenk der Bürger zum 700-jährigen
Jubiläum der Stadt.

Bogense
Visit the smallest market town of Denmark with about 3700
citizens. It is a very nice place for a walk along the idyllic old
houses and the brook which winds through the town. Bogense
is a very old town, and it was granted its rights as a market
town in 1288. The oldest house was built in 1543. The church
was built in the middle ages and is dedicated to the patron
saint of sailors, Saint Nicholas. As befits its saint, the church is
placed on a cliff off the coast, and the tower has functioned as
a seamark. Right next to the church is the old market place Torvet
where you can find the smallest house in Denmark. Today,
Bogense is a tourist centre with modern facilities and a large
area with holiday apartments. The town has an active cultural
life, and there are many good shops where you can buy all
sorts of things. There are also many nice cafés and restaurants.
Every Thursday all year round you can go to the flea market at
the town square Torvet. The old harbour is full of life. No longer
full of fishing boats, you can now find some of the best restaurants
and some nice shops there. The marina is the largest on
Funen with a capacity of 700 boats. East of Bogense, you will
find the golf course Gyldensteen Golf with its holiday houses.
The Carillon
Several times a day, you will hear a lovely melody in the streets of
Bogense. It is the carillon in the tower of the town hall that plays
a large selection of melodies. At the tourist office in Bogense,
you can see a list of melodies. The carillon was a gift from the
citizens for the town’s 700th anniversary.
