Switching to computers by using a serial device<br />
You can switch between channels by using a serial device that is connected to the<br />
RS232 interface of the KVM switch.<br />
The serial device can either be a special keypad or a computer with an installed terminal<br />
emulator.<br />
IMPORTANT: Switching between channels by using a serial device requires applying<br />
the connection settings listed below and using the switching commands of the<br />
KVM switch.<br />
Connection settings<br />
To establish a serial connection to the KVM switch, you need to apply the following<br />
connection settings by using the serial device.<br />
Bits per second: 115.200<br />
Data bits: 8<br />
Parity: none<br />
Stop bits: 1<br />
Flow control: none<br />
Switching commands<br />
Use the following commands to switch between channels:<br />
Command Channel<br />
1! 1<br />
2! 2<br />
3! 3<br />
4! 4<br />
5! 5<br />
6! 6<br />
7! 7<br />
8! 8<br />
! Switch to next channel<br />
ADVICE: You can query the active channel with the »?!« command.<br />
NOTE: The serial device carries out the command directly after it is sent.<br />
A message (see below) informs the serial device if the command is carried out correctly<br />
or why the switching failed.<br />
