Euriade - a second visit from an
other point of view
This year I had the wonderful opportunity to participate
in the international youth festival Euriade
“Youth in Dialogue”. In addition to the importance
and richness of the program itself, I was particularly
interested in this even because this time around
I was here as a teaching assistant, while in 2007
I participated as a student. Therefore, the festival
five years later presented itself in a new light. In
2007, Russia took part in such an event for the first
time, and for our teachers and students this experience
was a new one. Back then we were greatly
impressed by the abbey Rolduc, its atmosphere,
history, and beautiful scenery. We discussed various
topics in the conference rooms, whereas the
large talks took place in the Aula minor. Besides,
then we didn’t have “lights out”, and in the eve-

nings we could freely communicate with our new
friends in a more relaxed atmosphere on our
floor. Not disturbing the other guests who lived
in Rolduc, of course. Therefore, the whole time
we were surrounded by a foreign language, which
was not only beneficial, but also interesting. And
although the official language of Euriade was German
at that time, you could hear other languages,
such as English.
This last festival our schedule was just as intensive
as before with many trips, tons of positive experiences,
and we made new personal connections.
