Skånes Djurpark – the Zoo of Nordic Animals
Situated outside the city of Höör, embedded in beautiful beech forest, amongst
meadows and lakes is Skånes Djurpark – the zoo of Nordic animals. Last year the
zoo celebrated its 60th birthday and since the start the vision of the zoo has been
to show wildlife typical for the Nordic region. Today the zoo houses around 80
different species of Nordic animals.
Asphalted walking paths take you through the
varied landscape of the zoo allowing easy access
to the large naturalistic enclosures. The majestic
moose, the red deer, the threatened musk ox and
the bigger carnivores like wolf, bear, lynx and
wolverine are examples of species represented at
the zoo. In addition to keeping wild animals, the
care of endangered domestic species is another
focus of the zoo.
In the children’s zoo you will meet friendly
domestic animals like sheep, calves, rabbits and
guinea pigs and together with a zoo keeper the
children can help out with daily routines. Around
the zoo there are several playgrounds for the
children to explore and in the summer two long
water slides are open.
Skånes Djurpark is open every day of the year
which gives unique possibilities to experience the
animals and their natural surroundings through
all the seasons. March – September the restaurant
at Bear Mountain is open and during the winter,
the souvenir shop offers something hot or cold to
drink, icecream, cookies and sweets. You can also
bring your own food and coffee and sit down at
one of the many resting places or barbecue spots
around the zoo.
Close and unique animal encounters and ex-
periences and play in beautiful natural surroundings

Skånes Djurpark- Tiere,
Natur und Abenteuer
Mitten in Schonen, inmitten von Buchenwald,
Wiesen, Lichtungen und Seen, liegt Schonens
Tierpark, Skånes Djurpark! Der Park blickt auf
eine 60 jährige Geschichte zurück und zeigt die
Tiere in weitläufigen Gehegen in ihrem natürlichen
Lebensraum.
Heute leben hier ca 80 verschiedene Arten von
in Skandinavien heimischen Tieren. Die großen
schwedischen Raubtiere wie Wolf, Bär, Luchs
und Vielfraß sind hier ebenso zuhause wie ihre
kleineren Verwandten Wildkatze, Fuchs und
Marderhund. Der Elch, König der nordischen
Wälder, andere Geweihträger sowie die selten
gewordenen und von der Ausrottung bedrohten
Wisente und Moschusochsen sind ebenfalls
vertreten.
Im Streichelzoo können die Kinder Schafen
über die weiche Wolle streichen und zusammen
mit einem Tierpfleger Kleintiere wie Kaninchen
und Meerschweinchen in den Arm nehmen.
Als erst zweiter Tierpark in Schweden stellt
Skånes Djurpark nun auch freifliegende Raubvögel
vor und die Besucher haben die Chance,
auszuprobieren wie es sich anfühlt wenn eine
richtige Eule auf ihrem Arm landet!
Auf dem ganzen Gelände verteilt liegen
gemütliche Picknickplätze, von denen viele als
Grillplatz eingerichtet sind und wo die Besucher
ihre mitgebrachten Würstchen grillen und
genießen können. Da es auch überdachte Plätze
gibt, kann man rund ums Jahr seinen Picknickkorb
auspacken.
Der Tierpark ist rund ums Jahr geöffnet und
bietet Erlebnisse zu jeder Jahreszeit.
