Ausgabe und Anfertigung der Master-Arbeit
Given out and writing of the Master Thesis
(1) Die Master-Arbeit soll zeigen, dass die Kandidatin/der Kandidat in der Lage ist,
innerhalb einer vorgegebenen Frist ein Problem aus ihrem/seinem Fach
selbstständig nach wissenschaftlichen Methoden zu bearbeiten.
The Master thesis shall prove that the candidate has ability to handle problems
independently and with scientific methods.
(2) Die Arbeit soll im vierten Semester ausgeführt werden. Für die Überschreitung
dieser Frist gilt § 6 entsprechend.
The thesis should be done in the fourth semester. For exceeding of this time limit is
according § 6.
(3) Der Arbeitsaufwand für die Master-Arbeit beträgt 900 Stunden. Die Frist für die
Bearbeitung beträgt 23 Wochen. Thema, Aufgabenstellung und Umfang sind von der
Betreuerin/dem Betreuer so zu begrenzen, dass die Frist zur Bearbeitung
eingehalten werden kann. Im Einzelfall kann auf begründeten Antrag der
Prüfungsausschuss die Bearbeitungsfrist ausnahmsweise um höchstens vier
Wochen verlängern.
The effort for the Master thesis are 900 hours. The time limit for the working is 23 weeks.
Theme, type of problem and the amount have to be limited by the supervisor to be
achievable in the time frame given. The total tome of the extension can be four weeks
maximum.
(4) Zur Master-Arbeit wird zugelassen, wer
1. für den Master-Studiengang Computational Engineering an der Universität
Rostock eingeschrieben ist und
2. den Erwerb von mindestens 78 Leistungspunkten nachweisen kann.
To the Master theses can be admitted who
1. has enrolled for the Master course Computational Engineering at the University of
Rostock and
2. can proof the achievement of at least 78 credit points.
(5) Die Kandidatin/Der Kandidat hat die Zulassung zur Master-Arbeit schriftlich beim
Prüfungsausschuss zu beantragen. Der Antrag ist so rechtzeitig zu stellen, dass die
Kandidatin/der Kandidat unter Berücksichtigung aller Fristen sowie Umfang und
Bearbeitungszeit der Master-Arbeit einschließlich ihrer Verteidigung bei
planmäßigem Verlauf ihr/sein Studium in der Regelstudienzeit abschließen kann.
Dem Antrag ist eine aktuelle Studienbescheinigung beizufügen. Die Kandidatin/Der
Kandidat kann mit dem Antrag auf Zulassung Themen und Betreuerin/Betreuer
vorschlagen; der Vorschlag begründet keinen Anspruch.
The candidate has to apply for the admission to the Master thesis in a written form at the
examination board. The registration needs to be early enough so that the candidate can
finish his or her study inclusive the working and defense of the Master thesis within the
number of terms prescribed for the completion of the study. The certificate of study has to be
attached as an appendix. The candidate can had-in with the application of admission
suggestions for the topic of the Master’s thesis and the supervisor; the suggestion does not
constitute a claim.
