Israeli manufacturer Highcon (Hall 4, stand B28) has signed a distribution deal with Staples’ printing systems division for its drupa-launched Euclid digital die-cutting machine. A Euclid machine will be installed at Staples’ Brussels demonstration studio and will be sold through the company’s Greek, Italian, Belgian, Dutch and Spanish divisions. “We are delighted to sign this agreement with Staples as it is a leading supplier of printing equipment in Europe,” commented Aviv Ratzman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Highcon. “I am certain that this technology will change the packaging industry with its unique solution, enabling short-run fastturnaround carton production,” added Wouter van Dijk, president of Staples’ printing systems division. Also on show is the company’s popular Azon DTS White directto-substrate printer. Capable of printing on substrates up to 100mm thick, the machine can output on to materials such as wood, plastic, rock and glass. The machine features a new cylindrical module, which enables printing on cylindrical objects.
