The supply of services to thestands takes place via supplyducts. Depending on the position ofthe stand, the supply can be selectedwithin the stand if the duct isrouted within the stand. In all othercases, the supply is taken from thenearest duct. Pipes or cablesrouted above the ground must becovered over to prevent peoplefrom tripping over them. The workof connecting cables and pipes (forelectricity and water) is done by licensedspecialist companies (contractualpartners of MESSEBREMEN).9.2 Supply of electricityFor the supply of electricity, a TN-C-S power network at 3x400/230 V,50 Hz (halls 1 to 7) are available inthe halls. The fluctuation range is+6 % to -10 %.It is expressly pointed out that an"uninterruptible" power supply isnot available. In all cables feedingto the stands, the protective earth(PE) conductor and the neutral (N)cores are provided as separateconductors. In halls 1 to 7, protectiveearth conductors and neutralconductors must not be connectedto each other (refer also to VDE0108). Motors having a power ratingof 20 kW or more may be operatedonly with a current limitingstarting device.9.3 Supply of waterA supply of water exists in the supplyducts of halls 1 and 4.0 to 7 (butnot hall 2, 3 and 4.1), with variousinlets and discharge points. Anyother water supply sources have tobe approved by MESSE BRE-MEN's Technical Management.When the stand is vacated, themain stop valve in the stand mustbe closed. The exhibitor is responsiblefor any water damage that occurs.For stands on the open-airsite, a trouble-free supply of watercannot be guaranteed in the eventof frost.9.4 Supply of compressed airA supply of compressed air doesnot exist, but it can be provided ifrequested from MESSE BRE-MEN's Technical Management.9.5 Telephone & other communicationconnectionsTelephone and other communicationconnections are possible, employinganalog, digital or ISDNtechnology. Operation of the exhibitor'sown terminal equipment ispermissible. Requirements shouldbe announced to MESSE BRE-MEN's Technical Management.10 Accident preventionregulations10.1 GeneralThe exhibitor himself is responsiblefor safety at the stand and for ensuringthat the relevant industrialsafety and accident prevention regulationsare complied with. He isalso liable for all injuries to personsF 9TECHNICAL GUIDELINESand damage to property resultingfrom the construction and runningof his stand or from the exhibits displayedin it.Throughout the periods of constructionand dismantling, conditionsinside and outside the hallsare similar to those on a buildingsite.The personnel working in this environmentmust be made aware ofthe particular dangers that exist.Access to the stands for the purposeof checking safety must begranted to the GewerbeaufsichtsamtBremen (the Trade SupervisoryBoard of Bremen), theBauordnungsamt Bremen (the BremenBuilding Regulations Authority),the berufsgenossenschaftlicheKommissionen (the pertinent commissionsof the employers' liabilityinsurance associations), the firebrigade, and the persons appointedby MESSE BREMEN's TechnicalManagement.If safety-relevant deficiencies arefound, the instructions issued bythe above-mentioned bodies mustbe obeyed immediately.10.2 The use of industrialtrucks, cranes, and platformsfor lifting personsOnly authorized persons may operatesuch machines. The driver ofan industrial truck must have a certificateof competence, and must beable to produce it upon request.The regulations of VBG 4 must becomplied with. In particular, it mustbe noted that fork-lift trucks may bedriven only with the fork lowered.Diesel-powered fork-lift trucks maybe used only in conjunction with apermanently installed soot filter.Gas-powered industrial trucks areprohibited.10.3 Fire protection equipmentin the exhibition standsThe exhibitor is responsible for theinstallation of the necessary fireprotection equipment, such as fireextinguishers and sprinklers.10.4 Internal combustionenginesThe fuel tank of exhibited vehiclesmust be to a large extent empty,that of exhibited motorcycles completelyempty. It must not be possiblefor unauthorized persons toopen the tank filler cap. The vehiclebattery (batteries) must be disconnectedand the vehicle keys kept inreadiness at the stand. Any unexpectedfuel leaks must be cleanedup immediately using an appropriatebinding agent or dry cloths.Binding agent or cloths must be removedfrom the halls immediatelyafterwards and correctly disposedof. In special cases, and only byarrangement with MESSE BRE-MEN’s Technical Management,used binding agents or cloths canbe stored temporarily outside of thehalls on the premises until correctdisposal. At least one 6 kg powderfire extinguisher suitable for ClassA, B and C fires must be kept inreadiness per stand. Anyone actingin violation of this will be required toleave the hall. The exhibitor shallbe liable for any resulting damagesor accidents. MESSE BREMENcan limit or prohibit the display ofvehicles at their own discretion.In the foyers of halls 1 to 7, the exhibitingof vehicles with internalcombustion engines is prohibited.10.5 Open fire or naked lightsThe use of open fire and the burningof packing material, waste etc.in the halls or on the open-air siteis prohibited.10.6 Ethyl alcohol, mineral oilsThe use of petrol, paraffin or anyother flammable liquids for cooking,heating or operating machinery etc.is prohibited.10.7 Cotton waste, oily &greasy cleaning clothsUsed cotton waste as well as oilyand greasy cleaning cloths must bekept in tightly closed and non-flammablecontainers with self-sealinglids.10.8 Celluloid, inflammablesynthetic materialsUnpacked celluloid and highly inflammablesynthetic goods withinreach of visitors may be exhibitedonly under glass.10.9 Noise levelWhen exhibition goods that createnoise are demonstrated, the noiselevel at the stand boundary mustnot exceed 60 dBA.10.10 Flammable materialsFlammable materials that are nolonger needed and flammablewastes must be transported immediatelyto the waste containers or tothe places specified for that purpose.The keeping of these materialson the stands or at other placesin a hall is not permitted; this alsoapplies to packing materials andother empty packaging. Workingclothes must be kept in cupboardsmade of non-flammable material.10.11 Compressed gascylinders, industrialgasesWhen compressed gas cylindersare being used or handled, the accidentprevention regulations mustbe complied with. Toxic gases mustnot be used. Before any system involvingcompressed gas cylindersis put into operation, it must bechecked beforehand by an expertin accordance with the technicalregulations, in order to ensure thatthe system is in a satisfactory condition.When such systems areused, MESSE BREMEN´s TechnicalManagement must be informedin advance. Compressed-air tanksmay be operated only in accordancewith the Druckbehälterverordnung(Ordinance onPressure Vessels) and the TechnischeRegeln Druckgase (TRG,Technical Rules for CompressedGases). MESSE BREMEN's TechnicalManagement must be informedwhen such tanks are to beused.10.12 Beverage dispensingsystemsWhen beverage dispensing systemsare operated, the regulationsof the Schankanlagenverordnung(Ordinance on Beverage Dispensers)and the relevant technicalrules SK 400, 500, 501, 60 must beobserved.10.13 PyrotechnicsIf pyrotechnics are used, the rulesof GUV 6.15 and of GUV 26.22must be observed. Their intendeduse must be announced in advanceto the Gewerbeaufsichtsamt Bremen(the Trade Supervisory Boardof Bremen) and to MESSE BRE-MEN's Technical Management; theannouncement must be accompaniedby a list of the effects used. Ifmachines for the production of simulatedmist are to be used, MESSEBREMEN's Technical Managementmust be informed in advance.11 Advertising activitiesAdvertising activities and presentationsmay be carried out only on theexhibitor's own stand. They mustnot cause obstruction of, or interferencewith, neighbouring stands.The noise level caused by advertisingand exhibits must not exceed60 dB(A) at the stand boundary.12 Waste disposal, cleaningThe exhibitor is responsible for disposalof all accumulated waste,both during the event and duringconstruction and dismantling.Waste disposal must be performedby the exhibitor or his appointedrepresentative themselves in accordancewith the Abfallbeseitigungsgesetz(the German WasteDisposal Act). The appropriatemeasures for the separation of recyclablematerials must be carriedout. Substances which could causea health risk or contamination ofwater, such as oils, paints or emulsions,must not be discharged intothe sewage system. RICHTLINIEN FÜR AUFBAUTEN AUS TRAVERSEN | GUIDELINES FOR CONSTRUCTIONS FROM TRUSS1) Es dürfen ausschließlich solche Traversensysteme verwendet werden, die in Übereinstimmung mit demDeutschen Institut für Bautechnologie hergestellt wurden und die das CE-Zeichen tragen.2) Für die Verwendung von Traversensystemen sind die einschlägigen Gesetze, Normen, Richtlinien und Verordnungenanzuwenden. Hierzu gehören im besonderen die Maschinenrichtlinie 2006/42/EG, die von derigvw herausgegebene SQ P1 Traversen (SQ= Standards der Qualität), die Maschinenverordnung(9.GPSGV), die Richtlinie für Arbeitsmittel (89/391/EEC) und die Unfallverhütungsvorschrift BGV C13) Die Herstellervorschriften bezüglich Verwendung, Aufbau, Belastung, Wartung etc. sind zu beachten.4) Der Nachweis zur Tragfähigkeit und Standsicherheit ist in geeigneter schriftlicher Form oder bei komplexerenKonstruktionen durch einen Sachverständigen zu erbringen. Der Nachweis ist der technischen Leitung derMESSE BREMEN auf Verlangen vorzulegen. Die Standsicherheit der Konstruktion muss durch die Verwendungvon Standfüßen und ggf. von Lastplatten und Diagonalverbindungen gewährleistet werden.5) Traversenteile verschiedener Hersteller bzw. verschiedener Systeme dürfen nicht vermischt verwendet werden.6) Beschädigte oder verformte Traversenteile dürfen nicht eingesetzt werden.7) Alle Traversenteile müssen mit den für das jeweilige System vorgesehenen und zugelassenen Verbindernverbunden und gesichert werden.8) Lasten dürfen nur mit zugelassenen Verbindungselementen fachgerecht an den Traversen befestigt werden.9) Angebrachte Lasten (z.B. Strahler / Scheinwerfer, Lautsprecher etc.) müssen durch geeignete Stahlseile (Safeties)zusätzlich gesichert werden.10) Die vom Hersteller angegebenen Maximalwerte (Lasttabelle) dürfen nicht überschritten werden. An Diagonalversteifungendürfen keine Lasten angebracht werden.11) Das Betreten von Traversen ist nur unter Beachtung der zulässigen Belastung zulässig. Das Klettern auf Traversenmit Querschnitten bis 30cm ist nicht erlaubt. Das Tragen einer zugelassenen persönlichen Schutzausrüstung(PSA) ist vorgeschrieben.12) Traversen, die im Fehlerfall gefährliche Berührungsspannungen annehmen können, sind in einen gemeinsamenSchutzpotentialausgleich einzubeziehen.13) An der Traverse muss dauerhaft und leicht erkennbar angebracht sein: 1. Hersteller, 2. Baujahr u. –monat(MM/JJ), 3. Typ, 4. Ident-Nr., 5. Eigengewicht1) Only truss systems that were produced in accordance with the German Institute for Construction Engineeringand that carry the CE mark may be used.2) The use of truss systems demands adherence to the relevant laws, standards, guidelines and regulations.These include in particular the machinery directive 2006/42/EC, SQ P1 trusses (SQ = quality standards) issuedby the igvw, the machinery provision (9.GPSGV), the directive for working materials and equipment(89/391/EEC), and the accident prevention regulation BGV C1.3) The manufacturer's instructions for use, construction, loading, maintenance, etc. must be observed.4) Evidence of loading capacity and stability must be provided in an appropriate written form or in the case ofmore complex structures by an expert. This evidence is to be submitted to the technical management ofMESSE BREMEN on request. The stability of the structure must be ensured through the use of supportingfeet and, if necessary, bearing plates and diagonal connections.5) Truss elements from different manufacturers or different systems may not be mixed together for use.6) Damaged or deformed truss elements may not be used.7) All truss elements must be connected and secured with connectors that are intended and approved for thesystem in question.8) Loads must be properly fastened to the trusses with approved connecting elements.9) Attached loads (e.g. lamps / lights, speakers, etc.) must be secured by suitable steel cables (safeties).10) The manufacturer's specified maximum weights (load table) must not be exceeded. No loads may be attachedto diagonal braces.11) Standing on trusses is only permitted in compliance with the permissible load. Climbing on trusses with transversesections below 30cm is not allowed. It is mandatory to wear approved personal protective equipment(PPE).12) Trusses which in case of faults can carry hazardous contact voltages should be protected by a common protectiveequipotential bonding.13) The following information must be permanently attached to the trusses so that it is easily visible: 1.
