Jury<br />
Thomas Caplin (geboren 1960) ist Professor<br />
für Chorleitung und Management<br />
am Hedmark University College,<br />
Hamar (Norwegen). Er erhielt seine<br />
Ausbildung als Sänger, Chorleiter und<br />
Chorpädagoge an der Royal Academy<br />
of Music in Kopenhagen und an der Royal<br />
Academy of Music in Stockholm. Er<br />
wird häufig als Gastdirigent und Workshopleiter<br />
engagiert sowie als Juror für<br />
Wettbewerbe in Norwegen und im Ausland.<br />
Seine Veröffentlichungen reichen<br />
von Büchern über das Chordirigieren<br />
in Schweden und Norwegen bis hin<br />
zu einer Reihe von Kompositionen, Arrangements<br />
und CD Aufnahmen. 2004<br />
wurde ihm die Anerkennung „Chorleiter<br />
des Jahres“ von der Vereinigung Norwegischer<br />
Chorleiter verliehen.<br />
Zur Zeit leitet er zwei Chöre: den Männerchor<br />
der Lund University und den<br />
Kammerchor Collegium Vocale. Als<br />
Mitglied der Leitungsgruppe des IFCM<br />
Projekts „Chorleiter ohne Grenzen“ hat<br />
er ein spezielles Engagement in Indonesien.<br />

Thomas Caplin (born in 1960) is professor<br />
in choral conducting and management<br />
at Hedmark University College,<br />
Hamar (Norway) . Mr Caplin received his<br />
education as a singer, conductor and<br />
choral pedagogue at the Royal Academy<br />
of Music in Copenhagen and at the<br />
Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm .<br />
He is frequently engaged as guest conductor<br />
and clinician, and as adjudicator<br />
in competitions in Norway and abroad .<br />
His publications include books on choral<br />
conducting in Sweden and Norway,<br />
as well as a number of compositions<br />
and arrangements and CD recordings .<br />
In 2004 he was awarded the recognition<br />
“Choral Director of the Year” by the<br />
Norwegian Choral Directors’ Association<br />
.<br />
He presently conducts two choirs: The<br />
Lund University Male Choir and Chamber<br />
Choir Collegium Vocale . As a member<br />
of the steering committee for the<br />
IFCM project “Conductors Without Borders”,<br />
he has a special commitment in<br />
Indonesia .
