With its perfect proportions,
harmonious composition and wealth
of detail, Ockelmann’s sculpture
is nothing less than a miniature
masterpiece in White Gold.
Mit ihren perfekten Proportionen,
der harmonischen Komposition
und den feinen Details der Plastik ist
Ockelmann ein kleines Meisterwerk
aus Weißem Gold gelungen.
A MEISSEN ® original
Das ist original MEISSEN ®
MEISSEN ® has been a byword for accomplished, powerfully expressive
porcelain statuary ever since the age of Johann Joachim Kaendler
(1706–1775). Ockelmann’s “Nude with mirror and rose” captures an
intimate moment with gracious poise. It echoes the perfect proportions
of statues from classical antiquity yet manages supremely well to
engender a sense of fluency, to breathe life into the woman through the
way she holds her body and limbs. Porcelain painter Antje Funke makes
conscious use of soft colouring to lend an added touch of youthfulness.
The mirror posed a particular challenge, though. This was solved by
resurrecting “lustre”, a colour whose mother-of-pearl finish comes close
to rendering the effect of mirrored glass once it has been fired.
Seit Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706–1775) steht MEISSEN ® für die
besondere Ausdrucksstärke kostbarer Porzellanplastiken. Ockelmanns
