Schon 2019 ohne PFC!
Das Thema Nachhaltigkeit wird auch im
Sommer 2019 die Kollektion von Jack
Wolfskin bestimmen. Darunter fällt auch,
mit vorhandenen Ressourcen sparsam umzugehen,
den Fokus auf Produkte zu setzen,
die aus vollständig recycelten Materialien
hergestellt werden und bereits 2019 komplett
PFC-freie Bekleidung anzubieten. Dazu

Heißt nachhaltig handeln nicht auch, kleinere
Kollektionen zu entwerfen?
Nachhaltiges Handeln beginnt bei der Produktentwicklung
bis hin zur Produktion. Das
schließt aber nicht unbedingt eine gewisse Kollektionsgröße
aus, da wir gerne für jeden das
passende Produkt bereitstellen möchten. Man
muss zudem bedenken, dass wir ja unterschiedliche
Mengen produzieren, je nach Order.
Wie kommunizieren Siedas Thema im
Fachhandel? Wir haben dafür ein spezielles
Team, das vor Ort im Fachhandel Schulungen
durchführt, zudem kann man als Kunde alle
wichtigen Informationen zum Thema auch
auf unserer Website nachlesen. Uund: Seit
2010 legen wir unsere Arbeit komplett offen,
jeder Kunde kann über ein Label, das am Produkt
angebracht ist, alle Details zu Produktionsstätten,
wichtigen Partnern und Lieferanten
nachprüfen und sich über andere wichtige
Details informieren. Wir haben vor unseren
Kunden schließlich nichts zu verbergen.
Wie sieht es mit Reparaturen aus?
Kunden können selbstverständlich Produkte
an unseren Reparaturservice schicken oder,
bei Bedarf die Imprägnierung ihrer Jack
Wolfskin-Jacke auffrischen lassen.
Wie spielen Sie das Thema Nachhaltigkeit
sonst noch? Die Texapore Ecosphere-Technologie
wurde weiter ausgebaut, so
gibt es vollständig recycelte Materialien nun
in 2,5- und 3-Lagen-Jacken. Mit dem Seaqual
Ocean Project unterstützen wir die Wiederverwertung
von Plastikmüll aus dem Meer.
Für das Material der Ocean T-Serie wurde
neben Bio-Baumwolle das Recycling-Garn
Seaqual verwendet. Es besteht zu 100 Prozent
aus wiederverwertetem Plastikmüll aus
dem Mittelmeer.

Without PFC already in 2019!
The Jack Wolfskin collection 2019 is focused
on sustainability again. This means for
the brand to conserve resources, the use of
fully recycled materials and the launch of
absolutely PFC free apparel already in 2019.
We talked to Melanie Kuntinawitz, Head
of Vendor Control at Jack Wolfskin.
Does sustainability not also include
producing smaller collections? Sustainable
behaviour starts with the product
development and goes up to production.
However, this does not necessarily exclude a
certain collection size, since we want to offer
the adequate product for each customer.
Above that, you have to consider that we do
produce different quantities, according to
the order.
How do you communicate the subject to
the specialist retailers? Therefore, we have
a special team that carries out training courses
on site. Furthermore, each customer can
obtain all important information about this
topic via our website. And: we have conducted
our business in a fully transparent manner
since 2010. Each customer can check out
all significant details about production sites,
important partners and suppliers etc. We
have nothing to hide from our customers.
What about repairs? Of course, the customers
can send our products to the repair
service or, if required, get a fresh impregnation
for their Jack Wolfskin jacket.
What are the highlights in spring/
summer 19? We expanded the Texapore
Ecosphere technology, for example, we offer
fully recycled materials in our 2.5- and 3-layer
jackets. We support the reuse of plastic
waste from the sea with the Seaqual Ocean
Project. The fabric from the Ocean T Series is
made from organic cotton and the recycling
yarn Seaqual. It consists of 100 percent
recycled plastic waste from the Mediterranean
Sea.
