efect <strong>de</strong> natură chiar dacă <strong>de</strong>stul <strong>de</strong><br />

izolat. ca în alte peisaje, personajele<br />

au un rol minor, iar atmosfera <strong>de</strong> litoral<br />

în vara însorită, nu este lipsită <strong>de</strong> note<br />

melancolice.<br />

Mai surprinzătoare chiar, este Peisaj<br />

din sudul Franţei 33 , o lucrare exemplară<br />

din punctul <strong>de</strong> ve<strong>de</strong>re al efectului <strong>de</strong><br />

lumină-culoare. Dominanta <strong>de</strong> galben,<br />

nuanţele şi valoraţiile pe zidurile clădirilor<br />

<strong>de</strong> pe mal, dau străluciri solare<br />

ce atenuează contururile, iar reflexele<br />

<strong>de</strong> pe oglinda apei exaltă spectaculos<br />

lumina, dând imaginii un fel <strong>de</strong> aură<br />

mirifică. cele câteva intervenţii <strong>de</strong> ver<strong>de</strong><br />

şi roşu (acoperişurile), proiectarea<br />

şirului <strong>de</strong> case pe fundalul cu munţi şi<br />

apoi azuriul cerului, conferă ansamblului<br />

peisagistic un efect poetic aproape<br />

unic în peisagistica pictorului braşovean.<br />

Spaţialitatea e creată prin golul<br />

luminos al apei, abil circumscris între<br />

primul plan cu bărcile <strong>de</strong> pe mal (un<br />

a<strong>de</strong>vărat poem cromatic în contrastele<br />

<strong>de</strong> ver<strong>de</strong> roşu, albastru) şi zidul casei<br />

din dreapta (altă bijuterie cromatică,<br />

infinit nuanţată <strong>de</strong> lumină, valoraţii şi<br />

nuanţe). E peisajul care pare să contrazică<br />

toată amara contemplare sceptică<br />

şi mizantropică ce domină peisagistica<br />

lui <strong>E<strong>de</strong>r</strong>. Foarte aproape ca realizare artistică<br />

şi stare <strong>de</strong> spirit este şi alt Peisaj 34<br />

marin <strong>de</strong> pe litoralul francez, în care<br />

culoarea are însă dominanta albastră<br />

mai pregnantă, iar culorile cal<strong>de</strong>, roşul<br />

şi galbenul, cad în doar câteva accente<br />

echilibrate dar răzleţe. tuşa mai largă şi<br />

mai onctuoasă, dă formelor mai multă<br />

masivitate, iar lumina aproape egală<br />

în intensitate, pier<strong>de</strong> din strălucirea<br />

die Gebäu<strong>de</strong>reihen gebil<strong>de</strong>ten Fluchtlinien,<br />

unterstützt von <strong>de</strong>r Alternanz warmer<br />

Farben. Die aus <strong>de</strong>r vogelperspektive<br />

betrachteten Gebäu<strong>de</strong> dominieren<br />

auch hier, ebenso die Gestaltung <strong>de</strong>s<br />

Hintergrunds und <strong>de</strong>r Baum, <strong>de</strong>ssen<br />

Stellung und warmes Grün ihn beson<strong>de</strong>rs<br />

hervorheben. Es han<strong>de</strong>lt sich um<br />

einen <strong>de</strong>r wenigen Fälle, wo ein Baum<br />

o<strong>de</strong>r ein an<strong>de</strong>res Naturelement mehr<br />

als nur unbeseeltes Dekor ist, son<strong>de</strong>rn<br />

tatsächlich als Natur wahrgenommen<br />

wird. Wie auch in an<strong>de</strong>ren Bil<strong>de</strong>rn sind<br />

die personen nur nebensächlich, die<br />

sonnige Strandatmosphäre von Melancholie<br />

durchsetzt.<br />

Noch erstaunlicher wirkt die vom<br />

Licht-Farbe-Effekt her exemplarische<br />

Arbeit Landschaft im Sü<strong>de</strong>n Frankreichs<br />

33 . Die dominieren<strong>de</strong>n Gelbtöne <strong>de</strong>r Gebäu<strong>de</strong><br />

am Ufer vermitteln <strong>de</strong>n Eindruck<br />

eines die Konturen verwischen<strong>de</strong>n Sonnenglanzes,<br />

während die Lichtreflexe<br />

auf <strong>de</strong>r Wasseroberfläche <strong>de</strong>n Anblick<br />

märchenhaft wirken lassen. Die wenigen<br />

grünen und roten Einschübe (die<br />

Dächer), die projektion <strong>de</strong>r Häuserreihe<br />

auf <strong>de</strong>n Hintergrund <strong>de</strong>r Berge und<br />

<strong>de</strong>s blauen Himmels verleihen <strong>de</strong>m<br />

Gesamten einen poetischen Effekt, <strong>de</strong>r<br />

in <strong>E<strong>de</strong>r</strong>s Landschaftsmalerei fast einzigartig<br />

ist. Die Räumlichkeit wird durch<br />

die lichte Leere <strong>de</strong>s Wassers vermittelt,<br />

die im vor<strong>de</strong>rgrund von <strong>de</strong>n Booten<br />

am Ufer (ein wahres Farbengedicht<br />

in Grün, Rot und Blau) und <strong>de</strong>r Mauer<br />

<strong>de</strong>s Hauses zur Rechten (ein weiteres<br />

farbliches Schmuckstück) umgeben ist.<br />

Das Bild scheint <strong>de</strong>r bitteren Skepsis<br />

zu wi<strong>de</strong>rsprechen, die <strong>E<strong>de</strong>r</strong>s Ansichten<br />

ansonsten dominiert. von <strong>de</strong>r künstle-<br />

the buildings, seen from above, the<br />

relief in the background and the<br />

warm green of the tree are of first<br />

importance in the landscape. it is one<br />

of the few situations when the trees,<br />

or any other elements, are more than<br />

just sapless presences. the characters<br />

play a minor part and the atmosphere<br />

is somewhat melancho lically.<br />

An even more surprising work is<br />

Landscape of the South of France 33 : the<br />

light-colour effect is remarkable. the<br />

predominance of yellow, the sha<strong>de</strong>s of<br />

the buildings on the bank give a solar<br />

lustre which attenuates the contours;<br />

the reflexes on the watertable spectacularly<br />

exalt the light giving the<br />

image a mirific aura. the few touches<br />

of green and red (the roofs), the row<br />

of houses in the background, the<br />

mountains and the azure of the sky<br />

give the landscape a poetic effect<br />

which is almost unique in <strong>E<strong>de</strong>r</strong>’s<br />

creation. the luminosity of the water,<br />

skilfully placed between the boats on<br />

the bank (a veritable chromatic poem<br />

in contrasts of green, red and blue)<br />

and the wall of the house on the right<br />

(another chromatic poem), creates<br />

space. it is the landscape which seems<br />

to contradict the bitter and skeptical<br />

contemplation which dominates<br />

<strong>E<strong>de</strong>r</strong>’s landscapes. We have the same<br />

frame of mind and a similar artistic<br />

achievement in another Seascape 34<br />

painted on the French coastline; here,<br />

the dominant colour is blue and we<br />

have a few, balanced but straggling<br />

accents of warm colours: red and<br />

yellow. the ample, greasy touches<br />

give massiveness to the shapes,
