efect de natură chiar dacă destul de
izolat. ca în alte peisaje, personajele
au un rol minor, iar atmosfera de litoral
în vara însorită, nu este lipsită de note
melancolice.
Mai surprinzătoare chiar, este Peisaj
din sudul Franţei 33 , o lucrare exemplară
din punctul de vedere al efectului de
lumină-culoare. Dominanta de galben,
nuanţele şi valoraţiile pe zidurile clădirilor
de pe mal, dau străluciri solare
ce atenuează contururile, iar reflexele
de pe oglinda apei exaltă spectaculos
lumina, dând imaginii un fel de aură
mirifică. cele câteva intervenţii de verde
şi roşu (acoperişurile), proiectarea
şirului de case pe fundalul cu munţi şi
apoi azuriul cerului, conferă ansamblului
peisagistic un efect poetic aproape
unic în peisagistica pictorului braşovean.
Spaţialitatea e creată prin golul
luminos al apei, abil circumscris între
primul plan cu bărcile de pe mal (un
adevărat poem cromatic în contrastele
de verde roşu, albastru) şi zidul casei
din dreapta (altă bijuterie cromatică,
infinit nuanţată de lumină, valoraţii şi
nuanţe). E peisajul care pare să contrazică
toată amara contemplare sceptică
şi mizantropică ce domină peisagistica
lui Eder. Foarte aproape ca realizare artistică
şi stare de spirit este şi alt Peisaj 34
marin de pe litoralul francez, în care
culoarea are însă dominanta albastră
mai pregnantă, iar culorile calde, roşul
şi galbenul, cad în doar câteva accente
echilibrate dar răzleţe. tuşa mai largă şi
mai onctuoasă, dă formelor mai multă
masivitate, iar lumina aproape egală
în intensitate, pierde din strălucirea

Farben. Die aus der vogelperspektive
betrachteten Gebäude dominieren
auch hier, ebenso die Gestaltung des
Hintergrunds und der Baum, dessen
Stellung und warmes Grün ihn besonders
hervorheben. Es handelt sich um
einen der wenigen Fälle, wo ein Baum
oder ein anderes Naturelement mehr
als nur unbeseeltes Dekor ist, sondern
tatsächlich als Natur wahrgenommen
wird. Wie auch in anderen Bildern sind
die personen nur nebensächlich, die
sonnige Strandatmosphäre von Melancholie
durchsetzt.
Noch erstaunlicher wirkt die vom
Licht-Farbe-Effekt her exemplarische
Arbeit Landschaft im Süden Frankreichs
33 . Die dominierenden Gelbtöne der Gebäude
am Ufer vermitteln den Eindruck
eines die Konturen verwischenden Sonnenglanzes,
während die Lichtreflexe
auf der Wasseroberfläche den Anblick
märchenhaft wirken lassen. Die wenigen
grünen und roten Einschübe (die
Dächer), die projektion der Häuserreihe
auf den Hintergrund der Berge und
des blauen Himmels verleihen dem
Gesamten einen poetischen Effekt, der
in Eders Landschaftsmalerei fast einzigartig
ist. Die Räumlichkeit wird durch
die lichte Leere des Wassers vermittelt,
die im vordergrund von den Booten
am Ufer (ein wahres Farbengedicht
in Grün, Rot und Blau) und der Mauer
des Hauses zur Rechten (ein weiteres
farbliches Schmuckstück) umgeben ist.
Das Bild scheint der bitteren Skepsis
zu widersprechen, die Eders Ansichten
ansonsten dominiert. von der künstle-

warm green of the tree are of first
importance in the landscape. it is one
of the few situations when the trees,
or any other elements, are more than
just sapless presences. the characters
play a minor part and the atmosphere
is somewhat melancho lically.
An even more surprising work is
Landscape of the South of France 33 : the
light-colour effect is remarkable. the
predominance of yellow, the shades of
the buildings on the bank give a solar
lustre which attenuates the contours;
the reflexes on the watertable spectacularly
exalt the light giving the
image a mirific aura. the few touches
of green and red (the roofs), the row
of houses in the background, the
mountains and the azure of the sky
give the landscape a poetic effect
which is almost unique in Eder’s
creation. the luminosity of the water,
skilfully placed between the boats on
the bank (a veritable chromatic poem
in contrasts of green, red and blue)
and the wall of the house on the right
(another chromatic poem), creates
space. it is the landscape which seems
to contradict the bitter and skeptical
contemplation which dominates
Eder’s landscapes. We have the same
frame of mind and a similar artistic
achievement in another Seascape 34
painted on the French coastline; here,
the dominant colour is blue and we
have a few, balanced but straggling
accents of warm colours: red and
yellow. the ample, greasy touches
give massiveness to the shapes,
