4.2.2 Dosimeter Selection
The next step in the Configuration window is to designate the type of dosimeter that
will be used in the treatment session, e.g. the standard single MOSFET, (one
dosimeter on a flex), or a Linear 5ive Array dosimeter (five dosimeters on one flex).
This feature is most important to those who wish to use the Linear Array, for reasons
outlined in “Section 5.3.2 Linear 5ive MOSFET Array Dosimeter”.
This feature is found at the bottom of the Configuration window (see Figure 4-4:
Dosimeter Selection Menu below) with the following message: “Please select the
type of dosimeter used by Reader #X”.
The software provides the option of choosing from: Single MOSFET, TN-252LA5
Array, TN-502LA5 Array, or TN-1002LA5 Array.
4.2.3 Calibration Parameters (CFs and CRs):
These fields are used to show Calibration Parameters, including Calibration Factors
(CFs) and Correction Factors (CRs). A CF translates the MOSFET’s voltage reading
into a dose unit (i.e. Gy, cGy, R), and a CR is a multiplicative factor that can be used
to accommodate certain external factors (such as extrapolating partial dose depth
data to Dmax).
