5.3.2 Linear 5ive MOSFET Array Dosimeter
For additional information, see Technical Note #8.
Real-time evaluation of the quality of the implant or HDR dose delivery can be provided by
the in-vivo use of a MOSFET 5ive Linear Array Dosimeter (models TN-252LA5, TN-502LA5,
or TN-1002LA5). These measurements will allow immediate assessment of post-implant
base and apex dose coverage, as well as the dose to organs at risk such as the urethra,
rectum or bladder.
Standard MOSFET Dosimeters, which have one dosimeter located at the tip of the flex, are
linear with dose, with a 5% maximum variation of the calibration factor throughout the entire
20,000mV reading range of the MOSFET. The initial calibration factor can be used for all
measurements, without a need for further calibration or correction.
In the case of the Linear 5ive Array, linearity corrections (LC) are implemented automatically
in the mobileMOSFET Dose Reporter Software at doses above 5000cGy. This is run ‘in the
background’ by the software and is visible to the user in the LC column. These linearity
corrections will remain accurate throughout the 20,000 mV reading range of the dosimeter.
For this reason it is very important that the user designate the correct type of Linear Array
being used as well as the Bias selection (Standard or High) to allow the software to properly
calculate and correct the CFs.
