The transceiver is used to control the Reader and receive dose data <strong>wireless</strong>ly. It<br />

has been configured so that it is dedicated to <strong>Best</strong> <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> Ltd’s<br />

mobileMOSFET Wireless Dosimetry System.<br />

Before using the transceiver, you must:<br />

• Mount the transceiver in the treatment room. For reliable communication, we<br />

suggest that you place the transceiver in a location (on a wall) at a height of 2<br />

meters/6.5 feet or higher from the floor, and without obstacles (i.e. brick or steel<br />

reinforced walls) between the transceiver and the Reader. Do not place the<br />

transceiver close to large metal objects.<br />

• Provide power to the transceiver using the 5V DC Power Supply<br />

• Connect the transceiver to your computer’s COM Port using the DTE-to-DTE<br />

RS-232 cable<br />

NOTE: THIS TRANSCEIVER IS INTENDED FOR SHORT-RANGE (10 METERS/30<br />

FEET) COMMUNICATION ONLY. IF THE READER IS PLACED TOO FAR FROM<br />

THE TRANSCEIVER, COMMUNICATION MAY NOT BE ESTABLISHED.<br />

The <strong>wireless</strong> transceiver emits four different colors of light to indicate which mode it is in.<br />

They are:<br />

Green - The transmitter is idle.<br />

Red - It is communicating with the PC.<br />

Blue - It is communicating with the Reader.<br />

Purple - It is attempting to communicate with the Reader.<br />
