HEAVY HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP 2013<br />
SUNDAY 29th SEPTEMBER<br />
This <strong>Show</strong> is a qualifying show for the West of England Heavy Horse<br />
Championship. This Championship is sponsored by Wadworth & Co Brewers,<br />
Devizes, Wiltshire and will be held alongside the Wessex Heavy Horse<br />
Society’s Annual <strong>Show</strong>. CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES<br />
HEAVY HORSE CHAMPION - IN HAND<br />
HEAVY HORSE CHAMPION - IN SHOW HARNESS<br />
Rules of Qualification<br />
1. Qualifiers must be from Recognised Heavy Horse Breeds, of any age, Stallions, Colts,<br />
Geldings, Fillies or Mares.<br />
2. (a) TThe In Hand Qualifier must be the <strong>Show</strong> Champion of the Day. If already qualified<br />
at previous Qualifier <strong>Show</strong> then if necessary the Qualifier position can go down the line<br />
to 4 th position. If the top 4 have already qualified then no qualifier will be nominated.<br />
(b) The <strong>Show</strong> Harness Qualifier must be the highest placed animal on the day, down to<br />
4th position if necessary. A set of <strong>Show</strong> Harness can only be used upon one qualifying<br />
horse.<br />
3. The same horse cannot qualify for the In-Hand and <strong>Show</strong> Harness Championships<br />
throughout the championship season.<br />
4. Should a qualifying horse refuse a first qualification this will exclude that horse from<br />
qualifying in the same Championship at any further Qualifying <strong>Show</strong>s that year.<br />
5. If a Qualifier subsequently be unable to attend the Championships on the 29th<br />
September at the Turnpike <strong>Show</strong>ground (between Shaftesbury and Gillingham in North<br />
Dorset) then the Championship Secretary must be notified no later than 14th September<br />
2013. The position can then be passed to the next eligible horse.<br />
6. Each horse that qualifies will receive a qualifier rosette.<br />
AWARDS AT THE CHAMPIONSHIP 2013<br />
Each Champion will receive £250, sash & rosette.<br />
Each Reserve Champion will receive £150, sash & rosette.<br />
The remaining finalists (attending the Championship) will receive £25 & rosette.<br />

SPECIAL NOTE: <strong>Horses</strong> qualifying for the Championship and others from the same<br />
stables may enter and take part in the Wessex Heavy Horse Society’s Annual <strong>Show</strong> on the<br />
same day and part of the day’s events. <strong>Show</strong> Classes include: Mare 3 years old and over,<br />
Gelding 3 years old and over, Yearling, 2 year old, colt and filly foals, Harness, Ladies Cart,<br />
Agricultural and Trade Turnout, Qualifier to Championships. Overnight and show day<br />
stabling available.<br />
