<strong>Horses</strong> need not be registered with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) to qualify<br />

but must be on the IDHS(GB) registers by the time of the Championship which is held<br />

at the IDHS(GB) Annual Breed <strong>Show</strong> on 31st August - 1st September 2013 at<br />

Lincolnshire <strong>Show</strong>ground, Granges-de-Lings, Lincoln LN2 2NA. NB: A horse may<br />

only qualify for the Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes<br />

won, placed in or entered. Each qualifier will receive a card and a £10 voucher from<br />

Blue Chip. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at<br />

www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS(GB) that they have qualified for the Final.<br />

Following submission of the online form, a qualifier’s pack will be sent out<br />

direct to the qualifier. In the Final, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize<br />

money, a trophy and a Blue Chip rug. The Reserve Champion will be awarded £500<br />

and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed<br />

pure bred Irish Draught will be awarded a trophy and £100 and the highest placed<br />

158cm (15.2hh) and under will receive a trophy and £50.<br />

Working <strong>Show</strong> Horse - Thursday 16 May<br />

This class is held under the Rules and jurisdiction of the British <strong>Show</strong> Horse Association.<br />

Competitors and <strong>Horses</strong> need to be registered or have temporary membership with a Day<br />

Ticket. <strong>Horses</strong> registered with the Association must be owned, exhibited and ridden by<br />

current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older.<br />

Day Ticket - Non-members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per exhibitor,<br />

per horse, per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Novice, Amateur, Young Rider,<br />

Home Produced, Working and Open Affiliated classes only, but will not allow entry into RIHS<br />

or HOYS qualifying classes. <strong>Horses</strong> registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height<br />

certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form from<br />

the BSHA website.<br />

This class is a qualifier for The Global Foods Working <strong>Show</strong> Horse of the Year Final, to be<br />

held at the BSHA National Championship <strong>Show</strong>. The two highest placed horses in the top<br />

five, not already qualified, in each Open Working <strong>Show</strong> Horse class, will qualify for the Final;<br />

no horse placed lower than fifth will qualify. Those <strong>Show</strong>s held after the 2013 National<br />

Championship <strong>Show</strong> will carry the qualification(s) forward to 2014.<br />

Entries for this class can be made on a BSHA Day Ticket but to qualify for the final; horse,<br />

owner and rider must be registered with the BSHA within fourteen days of qualification.<br />

Failure to register or notify the BSHA Office of a date of a JMB measurement appointment,<br />

if required, will mean the qualification automatically passes down the line.<br />

Any horse which is a Grade B <strong>Show</strong>jumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st<br />

January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working <strong>Show</strong> Horse class. A<br />

Rider may ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but must then select one horse to take<br />

through to the ride and conformation phases (if required). No change of rider is allowed.<br />
