859 The BSPS Open Intermediate Working Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or<br />

over, exceeding 148cms (14.2hh) and not exceeding 158cms (15.2hh). Riders not to<br />

have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year.<br />

860 BSPS Mare or Gelding, Novice, Mixed height class for Working Hunter Ponies and<br />

Intermediate Working Hunters not exceeding 158cm (15.2hh). Competitors must<br />

jump in their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of the pony.<br />

Riders with ponies of the relevant height must declare if they are competing in the<br />

153cm Section or the Intermediate Section.<br />

Champion Prize<br />

H148 Champion Working Hunter Pony. <strong>Devon</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Rosette (this applies to Classes 856-<br />

859). The Champion will qualify for the BSPS ‘Mitten Asbestos‘ Champion of Champions and a<br />

SWPA Qualifying Card.<br />

Mountain & Moorland First Ridden Working Hunter Ponies<br />

MATFORD ARABLE RING<br />

Judge: Mrs J Lowth, Lyndhurst, Hampshire.<br />

This class is a qualifier for the National Pony Society Mountain & Moorland First Ridden<br />

Working Hunter Pony Championship to be judged under the Rules of the National Pony<br />

Society. Qualifying rounds are open to both NPS Members and Non Members BUT ONLY<br />

the highest placed pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life MEMBER, on production of<br />

their membership card in the ring, will be eligible to qualify for the Finals.<br />

Open to registered Mountain & Moorland mares or geldings four years old or over not<br />

exceeding 128cms. Registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society Stud<br />

Book. Riders must have attained their 5th birthday but must not have attained their 12th<br />

birthday before the 1st January in the current year.<br />

Riders may only ride one pony in each class. Any rider who has qualified for the<br />

(HOYS/RIHS) Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter Pony Championship before the 1st<br />

January in the current year is not eligible for this class. No change of rider or saddlery is<br />

allowed between phases or during a phase. Protective boots may be used for the jumping<br />

phase only. Bandages and protective pads on ponies’ feet are not allowed.<br />

Competitors in this class must declare at the NatWest Commentary Box one hour before the<br />

start of the Class. Fences will be between 47cm (1’6”) and 53cm (1’9”) with a maximum<br />

spread of 47cm (1’6”).<br />

861 Mountain & Moorland Mare or Gelding, four years old and over, not exceeding<br />

128cm (12.2hh). All exhibits must be registered Mountain & Moorlands (Part Breds<br />

are not eligible). Riders must have attained their 5th birthday but must not have<br />

attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year.<br />
