Working Hunter Ponies - Saturday 18 May Judges: Mrs J N C Wooldridge, Odiham, Hampshire. (Jumping) Mrs T J Bemand, Bromyard, Herefordshire. (Conformation) CLASSES 856-860 - NATWEST RING This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (20/13). Ponies must be registered with the BSPS and registration numbers stated on the entry form (see Reg. 36).Owners and Riders must be BSPS Members. This is a Qualifying Show for the BSPS Championships held at Arena UK and the 1st and 2nd prize-winners (if eligible) will qualify from classes 856-858 and 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizewinners (if eligible) from Class 859 to compete thereat, provided that the ponies are owned and registered by BSPS Showing members and ridden by BSPS members. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prize-winners (if eligible) in Class 860 can qualify provided that the ponies are owned and registered by BSPS Showing members and ridden by BSPS members in accordance with Rule 23. Classes 856-859 are qualifying classes for the Royal International Horse Show. Pony Owners and riders must be registered in accordance with Rules 22 & 523. Classes 856-859 are qualifying classes for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year. BSPS CLASSIC SECURITY UK LTD CHALLENGE The highest placed pony that has not qualified for the 2013 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class, will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the “BSPS Challenge”, the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony. If after qualifying a pony qualifies for the HOYS it will forfeit it’s qualification for the “BSPS Challenge”. The Best Rider in each of the following Open Classes at all BSPS Affiliated Shows will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the ‘Black Country Saddles’ Rider of the Year at the Summer Championships Show:- 133, 143 & 153 Working Hunter Pony Classes. Working Hunter Pony Competitors must declare at the NatWest Commentary Box one hour before the start time of the first class. 856 BSPS Mare or Gelding, Four years old and over, not exceeding 133cm (13hh), riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before the 1 January in the current year. 857 BSPS Mare or Gelding, Four years old and over, exceeding 133cm (13hh) but not to exceed 143cm (14hh), riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before the 1 January in the current year. 858 BSPS Mare or Gelding, Four years old and over, exceeding 143cm (14hh) but not to exceed 153cm (15hh), riders not to have attained their 20th birthday before the 1 January in the current year. 96
859 The BSPS Open Intermediate Working Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, exceeding 148cms (14.2hh) and not exceeding 158cms (15.2hh). Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year. 860 BSPS Mare or Gelding, Novice, Mixed height class for Working Hunter Ponies and Intermediate Working Hunters not exceeding 158cm (15.2hh). Competitors must jump in their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of the pony. Riders with ponies of the relevant height must declare if they are competing in the 153cm Section or the Intermediate Section. Champion Prize H148 Champion Working Hunter Pony. Devon County Show Rosette (this applies to Classes 856- 859). The Champion will qualify for the BSPS ‘Mitten Asbestos‘ Champion of Champions and a SWPA Qualifying Card. Mountain & Moorland First Ridden Working Hunter Ponies Saturday 18 May MATFORD ARABLE RING Judge: Mrs J Lowth, Lyndhurst, Hampshire. This class is a qualifier for the National Pony Society Mountain & Moorland First Ridden Working Hunter Pony Championship to be judged under the Rules of the National Pony Society. Qualifying rounds are open to both NPS Members and Non Members BUT ONLY the highest placed pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life MEMBER, on production of their membership card in the ring, will be eligible to qualify for the Finals. Open to registered Mountain & Moorland mares or geldings four years old or over not exceeding 128cms. Registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society Stud Book. Riders must have attained their 5th birthday but must not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Riders may only ride one pony in each class. Any rider who has qualified for the (HOYS/RIHS) Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter Pony Championship before the 1st January in the current year is not eligible for this class. No change of rider or saddlery is allowed between phases or during a phase. Protective boots may be used for the jumping phase only. Bandages and protective pads on ponies’ feet are not allowed. Competitors in this class must declare at the NatWest Commentary Box one hour before the start of the Class. Fences will be between 47cm (1’6”) and 53cm (1’9”) with a maximum spread of 47cm (1’6”). 861 Mountain & Moorland Mare or Gelding, four years old and over, not exceeding 128cm (12.2hh). All exhibits must be registered Mountain & Moorlands (Part Breds are not eligible). Riders must have attained their 5th birthday but must not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. 97
