International Fairs and Exhibitions International fairs and exhibitions formerly under section 104(m) have been incorporated under section 104(f) since funds are made available under a special foreign currency program appropriation. Acquisition, Indexing, and Dissemination of Foreign Publications Under authority of section 104(n), the Library of Congress uses excess foreign currencies to acquire publications abroad for shipment to U.S. libraries. The Congress authorized the equivalent of $1.7 million to be used for this purpose during fiscal 1966. The Library of Congress offices in Cairo, Dacca, Djakarta, Karachi, Th'ir f New Cr n Delhi, r s and Tel Aviv shipped an estimated 1.5 million publications to U.S. libraries during 1965, bringing to five million the number of publications shipped since the beginning of this program in 1961. Obligations under this authority appear in table XXVIII. American Educational Institutions Section 104(o): No funds have been authorized under this section. Chairs and Workshops in American Studies The Departuent of State during 1965 obligated $156,725 equivalent in foreign currencies under section 10 4 (p): The Library of Congress uses Food for Peace local currencies to buy foreign publications abroadfor distribution to libraries in the United States. More than 1.5 million foreign publication 3 reached American librariesunder this program in 19 65-including these carefully packaged books on the first leg of a long journeyfrom Karachi, Pakistan.
