2 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BEST USE OF <strong>mediaMAX</strong> <strong>MINI</strong><br />
The aim of this manual is to provide the fundamentals of the operation of the fi eld strength meters in<br />
order to make the best of it.<br />
The <strong>mediaMAX</strong> <strong>MINI</strong> fi eld strength meter is a portable devices, conceived for exterior use, with<br />
certain limitations:<br />
• It is not advisable to use the strength meter under the rain; although it is water proof, it could be<br />
damaged if the water penetrates inside.<br />
• It is recommended not to use the meter in case of extreme weather conditions, such as temperatures<br />
below 0 degrees or over 40 degrees centigrade<br />
• Never use your meter as a standing support<br />
• The mains power supply is designed for indoor use, so it must not be used outdoor. Always use<br />
the power supply adapter provided with your meter.<br />
Please keep always in mind the following recommendations:<br />
• Please note that the meter’s battery is specifi cally designed for the device. An eventual replacement<br />
by any other, could cause a failure of operation, or even worse, a serious damage to the<br />
battery and to the meter.<br />
• A fi eld strength meter is a very sophisticated measurement device, sensitive to sudden temperature<br />
and humidity changes, and affected by impacts and vibrations.<br />
• Never open the meter by yourself. Every manipulation inside the device requires specifi c instruments.<br />
An unqualifi ed manipulation may cause serious damage in the meter.<br />
• Always handle the meter with care, it is a high technology device that may be damaged in case<br />
of improper use.<br />
• Please do not obstruct the ventilation orifi ces situated on both sides of the meter, in order not<br />
to overheat the system.<br />
• It is important not to use poor quality connectors, nor right angle connectors and different adapters,<br />
since all these elements degrade the quality of the signal arriving to the meter’s RF-IN<br />
socket.<br />
